I felt like it was quite biased to the hate for Halsey and the and characters we hypocritical.

They all focus so much on the atrocities, make no mistake the things she did was absolutely orally wrong, committed by Dr. Halsey that they didn't see they were doing something far worse than her. Helping to instigate a civil war that would kill millions of lives. Not to mention that Osman hated Halsey for what she did to her yet never even stopped to consider that Parangosky approved all of it. Or the fact that ahas done far worse.

I'll break this down.

If Halsey said no to doing the Project the UNSC would have picked somebody else to do it. If people even thought about that then they would understand the government is "at fault" not Halsey, for serving her government when they called. Then you have the fact of halsey not being able to do anything unless it was approved by the board, which maggie was apart of.

I don't see how everybody is getting upset over a little project like that with a crashing economy, threat of innies returning, and i don't know billions dead from a war with aliens? The people are extremely short sided if you are going to be more focused on that out of all the problems in the galaxy.

What about everything Ackerson has done yet he gets no Flak? The SIIIs were even label as suicide soldiers in the novel yet nobody got pissed about that? There is no word in the English Language that i know of to describe the level of Hypocrisy and Ignorance displayed in the novel.

To be fair, Maggie only got pissed because Halsey lied to her, thereby crossing her. Sure, it's shortsighted, but who says Maggie is fair. She isn't necessarily getting on a moral high horse.

I do agree that disregarding the SIII suicide missions was not a good decision at all; however I would not condemn the entire book as terrible. Travis isn't judging any of the characters; she can't! She does not know enough about the Universe to judge Halsey.

I could care less about who else thinks the same way. I'm holding a conversation with you, not them. Still, after all of this time, you have not answered my question. You keep going back to 'herp i think she shoulda assplained moar'. That's all well and good, except you don't give any legitimate reasons for thinking so. You revert to repeating that it's just your opinion and crying that I'm trying to force you to change it. I'm trying to get you to provide me with some sort of reasoning as to why the book would've been better off written the way you think it should've been written.

Why do you think they deserve more than a single sentence? As an author, why was KT obligated to explain those plot points in greater detail? What purpose does giving a greater explanation serve? What makes you a better judge of how a book should be written?

Well since you clearly can't understand what i have re-stated several times you might want to ask someone else. My reasons are legitimate regardless if you want to "accept" them or not. And I "revert" because that is all it is and you are beating a dead horse. If you honestly cared as much as you claim to then you would go back and look at the information.

All I have said in this thread was "She could have explained some concepts better". I didn't Bash or trash the book, i stated that and the concepts and expected nothing. You are dragging this out as if i bashed the book, when you clearly don't like my opinion on it.
So as i have said before, we can keep doing this, drop it, or you can just re-read everything. I Don't Spoon feed material to anybody on this forum, especially if the information has already been presented to them.

Again. Mark VII is important since the older model hasn't even been out for a year. Thus, It needs to be explained or better elaborated as to why it was created and how. It doesn't add up how the SIIIs couldn't get any Mark sets because of price, yet hundreds of SIVs might be getting brand new Mark VII suits.

And can we cut this self-righteous Author crap? Who cares that Karen is a reporter (since she stated at comicon that she wasn't a Writer. I, as the reader, Want to have a better understanding of what is going on. Cryptum had no issue introducing completely new concepts and elaborating on them if not fully explaining them. All i have asked is for Karen to do the same.

I don't care if you agree with that or not but that is my stance.

Whatever kid. Keep avoiding the question, it's no sweat off my back. The burden of proof is on you to provide a reasonable explanation and you can't. You keep saying you've already done it, yet you want me to go back through 4 pages to look for it, even though it would've been easier for you to just explain it, considering all the effort you put into being buttstrated at me.

To be fair, he has given you the answers to your questions(It is up to you to like them or not, not my decsion). However, it is not his responsibility to retrieve them again for you. If he has already given them, then it is on you to pay attention to them. Though if you absolutely want, provide me a questonnaire and I will go back and search the thread, on the basis that this fight has become pointless.

I think that's a pretty simple request. I mean, it's what I've been asking for pages now, and most recently a few posts up. I keep getting stonewalled with the same generic 'She should've explained more.' That isn't the answer I'm looking for, and until I have it, I'm going to keep telling him that his opinion is baseless. It would be akin to me saying that 2+2=5. You can ask me why I think that, but if I keep telling you 'Well just because it is', you have every reason to think me an idiot until I provided some sort of explanation of why I think that way.

Last time i checked, there is no way for you to tell if somebody has been watching a conversation on bungie.

Not posting doesn't equal not watching.

Not getting an answer you want doesn't equal not getting an answer.

A bit contradicting... as Lord Hood shook Thel's hand and they let Phillips go to Sanghielios.. as a double-agent..

You can't say somebody's opinion is baseless when they have a base. And Einstein had a theory for 2+2=5.

How about we resume discussing the BOOK guys? It is abundantly clear that you two are not getting anywhere with each other. Why are we even ask such stupid questions as, "Why do you think the book should be written differently?" Let's talk about specific aspects to have a focused discussion. I really expect better from the Universe forum, but it seems this thread belongs in the Reach forum.

There isn't anything to talk about that hasn't been covered months ago. We talk about the inconsistency's and flaws with the book; Roberto and Primo then come in saying "you don't understand how humans work" or something completely irrelevant.

I fail to see how that justifies what's going on. Books have been discussed for centuries. I don't think the freshman English class at my nearest highest school is the first to discuss the symbolism of a mockingbird, but nonetheless, it ensues.

Oh i was agree with you. Sorry if i wasn't clear. Also something is wrong with my m button...

OT: Yes, the novel if full of hypocrisy and ignorance. Osman hates Halsey for what she has done, yet is helping to instigate a war. The same can be said for the ODST's and Phillips. Though at least Parangosky acknowledges that she has and is doing far worse than Halsey ever considered doing. The main characters seemed to be more upset with the fact that she replaced them with clones than the fact that she kidnapped children. Which to me seems very unethical.

The author has an extremely biased opinion of Halsey or at least writes as if she does. She makes Halsey out to be such a monster and yet never mentions any of the other characters moral low-points, of which they have many. You could compare it to Paradise Lost because of how the bad guy is made to be a good guy. Also while maybe not repentant of her sins, at least cares for the life's she put into harms way and attempts to make up for it by saving them from certain death either by the Covenant, Flood, or Halos.

Also when you say the UNSC would have found someone else i think i remember a passage from TFoR stating that explicit detail. But as Vaz states in Glasslands its the little people that have to say no because the common people are the ones that carry out orders. I don't agree with what Halsey did, and i really dont like that it was necessary. But the fact remains that it WAS necessary and it WAS going to be done regardless of whether she did it or not. I applaud her for being able to make such a hard decision and accepting the consequences after it was done. The truth is that often when people are saved they aren't thankful for what was done, only mindful of what could have been done better.

Glasslands is more important considering Halo 4 is coming out. Primordium, while important in regards to backstory, will have less relevance probabilistically than Glasslands.

And skimming the old pages of this forum from late October to early November, there were not any extensive discussions, and the same on your site Grey.

Also, it seems you dislike most of the recent canon additions to the lore grey. Reach, now Glasslands. Do you not feel that the value of the Universe is degrading if the major canon is not what you think even belongs?
