It seems like there's a good cortana and a bad cortana. And it seems like maybe master chief is divided between them and they're both trying to win him over. The bad Cortana is probably controlled by Gravemind. Or maybe she is making a reference to how she turns against Master Chief in the end of Halo 2.

Notice no Covenant ships attack Master Chief, and he doesn't worry about them either. (Not even the Banshees)

Notice his armor is a different color.

And finally notice that he is holding an Assault Rifle. Possibly one part of the game takes place before Halo and the other part after Halo 2

Also. PLEASE DON'T OVER ANALYZE THE TRAILER. I'm know Bungie made it very vague so they have plenty of room to change the game before it's released and not have blatantly missing features like the four-wheeler. I can see some things are up for speculation like the Covenant Ships, Why they didn't attack Master Chief, the change in Cortana's voice, or something like that, but I think we should wait until a little more information or trailers are released before we break anything down pixel by pixel or frame by frame.

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

Nope, Cortana is most definately rampant; there's no way that Cortana could split it two; she's an AI, a single program. Read about Rampancy. She didn't really turn against him; she was just bored. I can't see an AI aligning with The Flood, the race of chaos, destruction, and confusion. Anyway, I woudl be that when she was all alone on High Charity, she broke whatever restraints there may have been and overtook the entire network, becoming rampant. Interestingly enough, there was speculation a long time ago as to whether she had become rampant while she was in the Control Room. I don't think she did, because if she had she wouldn't have been able to back inside the MC. But once she got her second taste of nearly unlimited space...

I think that they're too busy worrying about the device that is bringing the sky down on them. Or the MC has allied with the Arbiter who happens to have control over those ships. I have no idea.

He's battle-scarred and dirty; Earth has been conquered. Its' the same armor.

And you're telling us not to overanalyze. While I suppose it is possible, there is no way that the section you are seeing takes place before Halo 1, because Earth has been conquered. I would assume that he's using the AR because it's more common than the more technologically advanced and more expensive BR.
