Subject: Can someone get banned for actions outside of the main forums?

Quit -blam!- stalking me you weirdo.

I know its kinda random, but it crossed my mind a few days ago. For example, what if someone went to groups post shock sites. Would they get banned from the forums if people messaged a moderator about it? What if someone dated with Fomans mom?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

yes, if they lead attacks on other websites through Bungie.net (gathering people for it) they could get banned.

That wouldn't get you banned. In fact, I hear that's how people become moderators in the first place.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

What happens in groups is typically (unless a moderator is a member of that group) outside of the awareness and scope of the ninja.

However, groups are not outside of the view and reach of the Web Team. Creators and members of private groups are still bound by their agreements (when creating their account and when creating a group) with our hosts and our hosts are capable and willing to enforce those agreements.

I'm not so sure about banned, but Achronos dropped by one of the groups I'm in and deleted a thread. Your "private" groups aren't so private after all. There really is no absolute control unless you're on the Web Team.

[*Please note that anything in my posts is likely to be filled with sarcasm, and should be taken with a pinch of salt. I tend to help people, usually*]

I think the only real instances of groups activity getting people banned have been things along the line of conspiring to spam the main forums, discussing and practising site-breaking codes and tricks, and generally just breaking the code of conduct.

If it's not attempts at breaking the site (which I've personally see Achronos do a Kool-Aid-Man routine into a group and ban a user or two, which leads me to believe he has flags that pop up in such events) and it's more a conspiracy I would imagine that a lot of the time it has to be reported by someone. Though I wouldn't be surprised if there were certain keywords that get flagged up.

Same applies to private messages if I'm not mistaken. As long as it's hosted on bnet, it's the responsibility of Bungie (to some extent) I'd think.

Ain't that the truth... You know, I really enjoyed that thread until Molo showed up.

'Twas a good thread. Then again, had it been found through other means (e.g. simply stumbling upon it), I fear the consequences may have been a little more...

My old main was banned forever because I was a member of a certain group.

Most girls I've been with were hesitant about taking it in the mouth. But once they did most would swallow. I got tons of compliments on the taste.

I think it's because of my diet. No fast food, no alcohol and lots of fruit.

He's quite the voyeur. I don't understand why he won't just join SV after all the times he's come to greet us.

I can think of at least one person losing their H3 recon armor and being banned for stuff done outside of B.net. So yeah, I guess so, but it seems to be really, really rare.

That is not the best thing to share with everyone becuase if you got Perma Banned and are posting now, you are evading your perma ban. :p

He lost it because he went onto the H3 forum trolling / feigning that he was 'hacked' looking for more quasi B.net stardom and was rightly banned and lost the armor.
The stuff he did outside launching the troll attacks was different. I thought he was ultra-banned prior to that.

That sort of question is better directed at Duardo.

OT, the rules (the CoC and ToU) apply to the entire website, not just the main forums. I've seen many a group suffer for the naughty, naughty things they've done.

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

Yes you can I've seen it happen. Basically it's someone who makes massive alts or gets loads of members together to spam the forums. Most of the time it's not the ninja's that ban them though, it more on the bigger scale with dealing with Achronos and the web team.

The webteam can "see" any private group without actually being listed as a member. Just watch what you post and you'll be fine.
