Here is a COMPLETE description:
A sharp piano note sounds.
There is light. Bright, white. Fade-in to a dusty African plain dotted with acacias. There is ghostly, mournful music, surreal, forlorn. As the background fades into view, we see several shattered arches draped with cables stand against a cloudy blue sky -- the remnants of the New Mombasa suspension bridge. The ground is battered and bare, with a few scrubby plants. A fallen metal sign bearing the image of a Grunt shudders in the breeze. In the distance, a shadowy figure walks toward us down the cracked roadway. All the while the camera pans slowly backward.
Another forceful piano note. The view is momentarily obscured with blue static. A hazy blue figure fades in and out. A multilayered voice speaks echoing words, guttural and chilling: "I have defied gods and demons." The flickering vision fades.
Continue pan, backing through the ruins of a bunker, half-broken, choked with smoke. The oncoming figure is seen dimly through the fumes. The haunting music continues, now with the soft sound of violins.
Again, a piano note. The vision returns. The long-haired blue figure appears, saying darkly, "I am your shield and your sword." The indistinct images fade once more.
The music resumes. The camera backs upward and out. The violins swell hopefully as the dark figure emerges from the smoke: the Master Chief, Assault Rifle slung over his shoulder. His armor is battered and worn. It is also subtly different: his guantlets are altered, and the armor plating distinctly greyer. He stands alert for a moment.
Another piano note, softer. More static, with wavering images: an eye, a face. The voice, more feminine, earnest. "I know you. Your past. Your future." The face holds onscreen momentarily -- it is Cortana. Her face dissipates into blue sparks.
Close in on the Master Chief. A simple theme plays out in piano. Then, fast-moving shapes appear in the background -- Banshees. They swoop past, and the Chief watches. The view abruptly shifts, showing what he sees: an enormous Covenant cruiser hanging in the air above him, moving away. The theme plays again, but stronger, with the dramatic flair of trumpets.
The camera pans right. The ground drops off, and we see an immense crater in the earth, miles wide. The edges are patrolled by countless Covenant ships. More Banshees swoop in overhead, engines roaring, then a Phantom. The familiar Halo theme music kicks in, backed by the power of a full orchestra. Our view expands: black clouds swirl over the center of the crater, lightning strikes.
Then, plumes of smoke puff up in radial lines from the center of the depression. It is apparent that some huge mechanism at the crater's center is opening up. The smoke travels out in a shockwave, slamming into the Master Chief's ledge. The camera view shifts down into the crater, looking up at the Chief as large slabs of the ledge's edge fall away into the abyss. The Halo theme continues to swell.
The camera shifts, moving up and panning right. The sun shines brilliantly beneath the edge of the Covenant cruiser. The view rises and swings round, showing the huge doors of the distant mechanism rising open. Trumpets accentuate the dramatic music. A circular platform at the center slowly lowers, allowing a brilliant blue-white light to spill upward from an underground chamber.
Tight lock on the Chief's helmet, the awesome sight shimmering in his visor. The music swells to a crescendo. The view shifts back to take in the flowering structure. There is silence, then the roar of vast engines. The light builds to a blinding climax, then pulses outward. The screen fills with white light. Cut to black.
Cortana's voice, low, ominous: "This is the way the world ends."
A triumphant trumpet blast repeats the earlier piano theme. Blue static flickers, then resolves itself into an angular "3" enclosed by a silver crescent. It fades, then the Bungie logo appears in its place. The trumpet theme repeats. The logo fades. More static. Then, words: FINISH THE FIGHT. Shortly thereafter, below it: 2007. The image flickers out, and the music's climax dissolves into a faintly echoing laugh.
