We are all going to get banned aren't we?

I am questioning the gene pool statement. And do we honestly every little detail about the "washouts"? because in nearly every new tidbit of lore we hear more about how ONI was taking spartan IIs, which is why i avoided talking about that.

We don't know exactly, but even so 1 > 0.

Therefore you can't try using that as support since it has been shown several times that ONI messed with the results.

We have actual canon statement that at least ONE SII washed out. Soren I believe? The one who tried to escape?

I honestly believe the Spartan-IVs to be part propaganda.

*My 2 cents worth.*
Perhaps. But I don't think ONI would pull a bluff that big for the sake of morale.

They might not wear MJOLNIR, unless M 7 somehow tosses augmentations out the window. In which case, it'd just be armor and there probably wouldn't be anything special about the 4s.

I find hiding the S-III programme from public and keeping the death of the S-IIs secret to be quite the bluff, don't you think?
Its the difference between hiding something that exists and showing something that doesn't exist. If someone just says "use the spartan IVs!" then it becomes an awkward moment. If someone says "Use the spartan IIs!" you can say "No, they're missing in action." And if someone discovers the S IIIs, then I guess you're screwed.

Indeed, but what is the point of calling it a mortality rate if they were going to be corrected within 10 years or so?

well anyway like someone said they can't have all the same augmentations since thy're adults so do to this the augmentations won't be as powerful as the SII's or SIII's and the armor wouldn't have the enhancements like the MJOLNIR or even SPI armor has since only someone with the kind of aumentations a SII or SIII has can use of which SIV's don't. this all means that the SIV's will probably be like a O.D.S.T. bulked up with beter armor. basicaly they'll have to depend on advancement in armor and weapon design. ;)

Washout =/= mortality

  • 12.26.2011 4:36 PM PDT

An old friend.

Before you know it getting the armor and injections will be standard for all combat units and the entire human military will have hit a new threshold of power. After an end to major conflict the drugs used to make spartans will be illegally used for sports and lawsuit time.

I vote guilty.

No they aren't. Washouts are the Spartans that were deemed unfit for the program or there bodies couldn't take all of the drugs. It is apparent in glasslands that some washouts were still made spartans by ONI. Which is why i am saying the entire subject of "death rates" is redundant since we don't know the full story.

May I also point out that, while yes, the S-IIIs had good genes, and their genes enhanced the effects of the augmentations given to them, the S-IIs stricter genes(More "perfect") allowed the "same" augmentations to be enhanced even more so than the S-IIIs. Then along came the S-IIIs of NOBLE Team. They had the gene requirements of the S-IIs, which caused the augmentations to give them the same enhanced effect of augmentation that the S-IIs got. They were then pulled from the rest of the S-IIIs, equipped with MJOLNIR, given a S-II to work in the team, and sent on more S-II-like missions. I think this was explained in Kurt's letter.

I never said anything about death rates, all I said was the washouts. And I haven't read Glasslands, so I didn't know about the washouts being fixed

When did I say anything about a mortality rate? I've been talking about the washouts this whole time.

I am not sure though i don't think they would. isn't that one of the drugs they didn't get?

Let me check, I'm pretty sure they did, but I'll be thorough.

They did. Page 102

And to the original question, it's a catalyst so I'm assuming the put the catalyst in then the ceramic carbide in in like a liquid form, or so I would assume.

I swear people that have listed S-III augs posted it. If not, they never include it as one of the augmentation they didn't get along with the Thyroid. I am very curious about how INJECTIONS are supposed to have this affect.

I would think injections would wear off or be less effective after a time also.

Which I guess that explains why dr. Halsey didn't get her skull crushed when punched.

Which brings use to the two ways we deal with it.

Either spartan IIIs really aren't as strong as the spartan IIs or Karen Fuc*** up.

Everywhere I've heard it, it's karen Fing up, but I really wouldn't know.

But I do have one more thing to add to this. Kelly attacks Holly? in GoO, and if she wasn't as strong as a SII, it would've ripped her arm out of her socket, so I think they're at least as tough.

Citizens of Me! The cruelty of the old Pharaoh is a thing of the past. Let a whole new wave of cruelty wash over this lazy land.

Hear the word of Pharaoh. Build unto me a statue of ridiculous proportion. One billion cubits in height......that I might be remembered for all eternity!

And be quick about it!

There should be a program of super-soldiers stronger than both the IIs and IIIs combined, having the potential to put them both out of service, and eventually, threaten them with replacement. THAT would produce an interesting story-telling angle for future Halo games. Blue Team and John-117 meeting their match, their ultimate rivals... I think that would be a very interesting twist. Maybe even an antagonist faction working for ONI to suppress people's civil liberties, and then Blue Team steps in to fight against the corrupt Shadow Government.

I saw a movie not long ago that was just like that

Or option C, Lucy wasn't trying to kill her and just didn't punch her as hard as she could have.

Option D, Doctor Halsey is secretly a Spartan with a ceramic skull (JK)

I don't try killing bugs when i step on them while walking on the sidewalk.

She Spun Halsey around, and punched her in the face with enough force to send a shockwave up her arm.

I keep saying this. Anybody who has been in a fight knows how that feels and knows you put force into that.

That falls under Karen messing up because she "rebuilt" another authors character.
