You need to calm down, RJ.
What some guy said to you in a multiplayer match is inconsequential. Trash talk is a staple of gaming of any kind.
Hell, I mouthed off to my grandmother after I beat her in checkers.
Anyways..
The multiplayer in Halo 2 does still have a draw, but I keep taking long breaks. It gets VERY repetitive. Most of my friends stopped playing altogether.
With Halo 3, Bungie needs to REALLY deliver on the downloads.
My personal suggestions:
-New maps, obviously.
-New vehicles every now and then.
-Tons of new weapons, released one at a time over a long stretch.
-New game modes.
Obviously space all of these out, giving people some time to get used to them before you change the game again. Make the releases cheap and have them available for free soon after. We all know you made enough money. You don't need to charge a ton for these anymore.
Every update will completely renew the experience without changing the basic feel of Halo 3. They will force people to adapt to new elements as quickly as real soldiers have to.
I doubt you guys will ever see this message, but if you do. SERIOUSLY consider this. Especially the weapons bit. Meshing/Texturing a weapon is not altogether that hard, and I don't know how you decide spawnpoints for weapons, but I doubt that is hard either. This would be fairly easy to do, and would keep Three-Quarters* of your players coming back for more.
*This number is estimated, judging by the number of people on my friendslist who stopped playing because the game became stale.
