If things have been "terrible" for over 5 years, you'd think you'd get the picture by now that your complaints are falling on deaf ears. Either that, or they're invalid.
This is stupid.

"We" need to start over? No, "you" need to start over. Although I find this thread pretty amusing.

8/10.

The entire point of this forum is to discuss the community and the website. Saying "If you don't like it then leave." is a little stupid, don't you think?
Not entirely. Choosing to remain somewhere that you don't like is your own fault. More the fool if you stay to complain. If things have been "terrible" for over 5 years, you'd think you'd get the picture by now that your complaints are falling on deaf ears. Either that, or they're invalid. Depends which you deem more logical.

My biggest amusement is the use of "we" in the subject title. As if the community at large has had a hand in getting to this point beyond sitting at their computers and complaining at every minor change since their personal arrival.

  • 12.23.2011 8:54 AM PDT

Pertaining to this thread specifically, yes, it would be appropriate to say "shut up and get out if you don't like it." If the thread isn't as ridiculous as this one, then no, it would not be appropriate to say "GTFO u n00b".

What makes you think that the OP is here just for the reason to complain? I haven't seen a bunch of complaint threads created by this user personally. The way I looked at it was the OP casually browses from time to time and has felt like things haven't been right for a while; because of that he or she finally decided to make a thread expression their concerns. Opinionated threads are in fact relative to the creater, that's common sense. Obviously the OP feels like there is something wrong with the community so that's why they're expressing it. Saying "If you don't like it then leave" is kind of a dumb response because it implies that there is no reason to change.

Now obviously if the OP made complaint thread after complaint thread I'd see where you were coming from, but I really haven't seen much of that from this user. I'm not even saying that I fully agree with the thread, I just disagree with Delta's response.

Oh and I don't think the OP used the word "terrible" once.

I'll stick to what I said. If you don't like it, leave. No one is forcing you to be here. You don't have to log in. No one makes you reply but yourself. You aren't getting paid to play. If you can't handle it, that's to bad.

Bungie does it's best to accommodate all of us. Because there are so many of us, some will not be satisfied all the time. I'm not satisfied all the time, but I deal with it.

For instance. I would like to have a search bar for groups to search for threads within a group. It hasn't happened. Oh well. I can leave or deal with it. I'm dealing with it just fine.

So like me and many many others, you can deal with it or leave.

Pretty much this. Like I've said, the entire purpose of this forum is to discuss about the community and the website. What exactly is wrong with expressing concerns and wanting change? Even if you don't expect Bungie to take up your concerns as something legitimate, maybe you'd like to know that you're not alone in your thinking.

So you're proposing that we stop making suggestions and posting ideas simply because we should "deal with it or leave", despite the fact that Achronos has told us that our suggestions mean a lot?

It still comes down to whether you can deal with it or not. I am confident that Bungie is doing things behind the scenes to improve this site. I am confident that each individual employee that works on this site to bring us this valuable asset to our hobby, is and are always looking for ways to improve Bungie.net.

As far as getting rid of Achronos and the Moderators and starting over, it's not going to happen. I can deal with it. Then again I'm not complaining.

To effectively moderate these forums, I'd place the number of active moderators needed somewhere around 35-40.
You're being a bit conservative. You'd want closer to 50 or 60, I reckon. That way you can reasonably hope for 5-10 on at any one time.
I didn't want to push my luck, but that's really about the number I had in mind.
