Am I the only one who doesn't like the headshot bleedthrough in Reach? The shield system is pretty misleading...

RC Clone is the anti-thesis of a lurker.

Melee damage shouldn't have gotten extra health damage and there should be reliable way of telling when your shields will pop to allow you to be headshot susceptible.

At least in Halo 2 and 3 it was more uniform.

Meh, in default Reach you have: 3 DMR shots + Melee = 1 Melee

...doesn't seem right :/

Subject: Bleedthrough

In Reach, your shields are much less visible. You can't tell if someone's shields are weak or not until they're either recharging or you're in the middle of shooting them. In Halo 3, they would light up and the brighter they were, the weaker they were. They changed this in Reach for some reason.

They changed it to work with the new Reach shield mechanics. Halo 3's shields worked much better with bleed through, and bleed through (IMO) worked much better in that game.

Not a fan of it in Reach, though Zero Bloom is amazing.

Wow goat. You must have lost all remaining faith if you have incentive to make threads like this. I know that feel.

Also, the DMR doesn't work well with bleed-through at all. Apparently one little bullet can tarnish a bit of shielding and kill me. The -blam!- man...

Reach is broken because it was designed for broken assets and functionality. lololReach (added another "lol" for the fail year-long anniversary it had, and since Christmas will incinerate Reach's population to a bare minimum).

Always up for REACH customs!

I hate the guessing game of wondering whether or not an enemy's shield is depleted enough for a melee to kill. I'm not going to count bullets in the heat of battle.

But the original Reach system of no bleedthrough made sprinting double melees common, which was even more annoying.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

It has its ups and its downs. We need to realize Reach was built from the ground up with things like bloom and no bleed-through in mind.

It plays well without them. I, personally, love bleed-through and 85% bloom.

Is there a difference between bleed thru and non bleed thru game types in regards to the number of headshots it takes to kill from a DMR or Magnum? I know your shields don't pop after the fourth headshot but it's still 4 body + 1 headshot for the kill right?
