Hi folks!
This is my fist post, ever, so bear with me.
I have briefly skimmed some of the posts, some of which I want to comment on.
As I said 'skimmed' so if I repeat stuff, please forgive me.
To sum: (only guessing)
The large artifact has a similar design to the delta halo control room.
It is probably the arc, the source of all humanity on earth, etc.
I seems unlikly that gravemind is evil.
Cortana may be going mad, ie she only lasts for 7 years.
There will almost certainly be other Spartans, due to the fact that others survived Reach.
However, how bungie will recover from not including them so far, I dont know.
Any additonal spartans may be from project 3 (see the books.)
The guy responsible for project 3 (cant remember his name) was interested in the flash cloned organs of existing spartans. This may mean that project 3 is made up of clones.
The Arbiter will return, we may or may not play as him.
The elites will join sides with the humans.
The brutes will become extinct, etc.

Thats all I can think of now, I look forward to replies and critism!
PS. I live in New Zealand, hence the funny posting time.

Yes, when a tree "has to go" it makes fruit.

Go tell your science class that you heard it on the Internet.

I doubt the books actually act out the game. The books are based on the game just the authors added their own plot twists and what not. Of course Bungie approved it but doesn't mean that the books are the actual Halo storyline.

I agree, while Eric Nylund has written great books, they will if no way alter or have any significance to the storyline of the game itself. Other than that, welcome to B.net. Happy posting!!!

Glad to see somebody cares.
I completely agree.
However, as you said, bungie approved them.
But lets be honest, it is likely that we will see other spartans, in some way.

There will most likely be more Spartans in Halo 3. There were in the books, and there will be in the movie (the opening scene is spelled out w/ and army of Spartans), so I'm predicting some Spartan allies during gameplay...does that mean it'll be waaay harder than the others, if you need Spartan backup?!

Once again, good point.
Thanks for replying to me!!
Anyhow, I stand by what I said.
It may be an odd thing to do, but I think introducing more spartans could be a brilliant move.
Thanks, and I am already enjoying myself :)

Most likely.
It is possible that we will see MC and the Arbiter work together.
This could lead to an interesting co-op game.
One player MC, the other the Arbiter

Bungie may have put its seal of approval on the books, but that doesnt mean that the books will guide the game's storyline development. The appearance of other spartans in Halo 3 will be a long stretch. I mean, why couldn't they have helped protect Earth from invasion? I know they could have, but if that was so Bungie would have developed a portion of CGI or gameplay to spartan reconnaisance in H2.

I almost agree with you, except I dont think Cortana is going rampant, the trailer gave me a different impression, almost seeming like the was talking like she was MC. I'm not entirely sure about the cloning and Spartan III's, or gravemind(i think flood=evil). But I certiainly hope the elites and humans gang up and kill the brutes, and they cant forget Arbiter!

i think it would be cool if there was more spartans.

it would kinda look like.. Master Cheif has a group of badasses!

mess with 1.. mess with them all.. but usally master cheif could own them all...

but an army.. yes i would think he'd need a little help.

I guess that is why the idea of a Spartan III project was mentioned in the books.
That could allow additional spartans to enter the plot easily.
Also, thinking about it, I wonder if bungie will introduce the three missing races?
Covenant: Engineer
Covenant: Drinol
Flood: Juggernaut

Yay, another Kiwi!
Yes, take away the arbiter and I might have to sulk.
The elite/human/spartan collective will wipe out those damn brutes!
Anyhow, another random thought...
Why do the flood still exist?
Assuming for a moment that the flood were contained, why didnt the forerunner just destroy the halos?
This gives rise to the possibility that the forerunner/life relies on the flood somehow?

Yes the flood seem to be evil, but gravemind?
One has to wonder.
Anyhow, I am at polytech and need to go home, so I will be away from the forum for a while.
I look forward to seeing more great postings when I get back!
