Great Journey = Over..

Hopefully they do not find a way to tie him in.

Hopefully we won't have to play as him in Halo 3

No we didn't, noone cares enough. Personnaly, the Arbiter storyline annoyed me, I got tired of playing as him, and there were too many Arbiter levels in Halo 2. And the fact that the last level of the game was played with the Arbiter just flat out pissed me off. I doubt he'll be back for more than a couple cut-scenes, maybe to get killed (please!)...

well when halo 2 ended the arbiter was in a completely different part. Personally i thought it would have maybe been good if there could have been a way that arbiter and master cheif could fight together. I dunno maybe there will be a completely seperate part of the game.

after that white light goes away in the trailer cutsence thing, the Arbiter comes of a ship a he starts hump dancing nwith the Chief...

LOL... i really have no idea if the Arbiter is a good guy, bad guy, w/e. so i dont know how he will fit in the story

edit: why does every1 hate the Arbiter so much. I thot it was kinda a good twist on the story.. but i would of loved to play more levels as the chief...cus the chief kicks ass

Well they said theres a civil war between the covanent, obviously being lead by the arbiter, and sarg and that chick are still on the halo, they gotta get home along with the arbiter who is now probably trying to stop the activation of the rings just like M.C, But ya i agree i hate him, he should die, and not be played as, this is M.C's story not his, if they wana make a game later on about his side story thats ok but dont ruin halo 3 with that crap.

Hopefully, any gameplay as the Arbiter will be scrapped. While it was a good idea and an asset to the story-line of the Halo saga, game-play as the Arbiter was just terrible and monotonous. In H3 I think Bungie's best bet is to devote some CGI to the whereabouts of the Arbiter, because obviously it is important to the story line of the saga at this point.

If you want to see the MC die, play Legendary. If you want to see MC finish the fight, play Halo 3. If you want to see MC finish the fight by dieing, why did you waste six years when you could have done it yourself right now?

Do I need to remind you that the Moniter told them about the ark? They all share a common destination. To just keep him out like that is just rude. He's at least going to be toward the end of the game. Whether you play as him or not is still up to Bungie. If they do make Arbitor levels, they better make them good. Arbitor's game seemed so much more repetitive for some reason though.

Devil is Double is Deuce and Joker always trumps Deuce.

I'm hoping for a 60/40 situation with the Arbiter. Playing as the Arbiter added a ton of depth to the story, and I had absolutely no problem playing through a Covenant storyline. That being said, it feel as if Halo 3 should be more of the MC's story. But I still want to play as the Arbiter.

Uh, reality check. The story wouldn't quite make sense without continuing the Arbiter's storyline.

Thats what it was, a sense of redundancy. I knew there was something about gameplay as the Arbiter, I just couldnt figure out what it was.

For starters the game isnt M.C's story, see my sig for an explination if its not painfully obvious to you ;p. As for why he wasnt in the video there could be a few reasons 1) they havent finished the touchups on how he/elite's will look 2) if youd read their news post youd see that they deliberately left alot of things out, that it was just a little peek and they didnt want to reveal too much. Showing him doing much of anything could easily give away his intentions and thus spoil part of the suspense. The fact that he will play some sort of role is pretty well a given considering the kind of influence he has with his fellow elites, and that he has met MC, Gravemind, The prophet, Johnson, and Keyes all. Hes perfectly positioned to do something and bring the elites into this fight both to satisfy their grudge against the covenant for the betrayl, and to prevent their own extinction as theyve made it rather clear that wasnt the sort of journey they had in mind

Now look guys, your mixing the arbiter's role with mediocer game play. Shure his levels were horrible and branched off from the main point of the war, but he was an important part of the story and still is. I personaly would like two campaigns, one for the cheif with style and gameplay, and another for arbiter for challange and a change of pace. So just cool it the arbiter is a good character, he just makes for a less than satifying level of gameplay.
Edit: whoops, I guess I'm a slow typer.

I like playing as the Arbiter, but I'd just rather be MC.

Halo 3 and Reach FTW, the beta's were awesome

Nobody cares about the arbiter. He should be our enemy.

I was actually better with thinking the covenant were a little more savage than the humans. Elites that attacked us mercilessly in Halo 1. Anyways, fun stuff.
