I only consider group invites if I kind of know the person who's inviting me. I then check the member queue to see if any of my friends are in it.

Yax is a shining beacon in these dark times. You should all strive to be more like Yax.

I basically always respond to group invites but I very rarely join them. Sometimes I'll do it just to see what it's like and then leave shortly after.

Of course, the exception to this is when I actually know the person who sends the invite and they are not just doing it randomly. Then it is likely I'll enjoy the group, if it manages to stay active that is.

meh.

I accepted some random invites I received during my first few days here.

Now, I rarely accept any.

I only have 1 active group, and that group is entirely made from people I know personally.

You say tomato; I say potato.

I usually accept. Who knows, it might turn out to be fun.

"Ignorance is a plague."

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

I've only joined one and that was because one of my IRL friends had mentioned it to me before.

It depends what the groups about (And how many i'm in), I do most of the time accept the invites.

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

I usually join if it's about something interesting, and the people there seem cool enough.

I usually have an open mind when it comes to group invites. If the group seems like something I'd like, I'll join in a heartbeat. My entire Bnet experience changed when a certain someone invited me to a group of theirs, and I don't really have anything to lose by joining, do I?

I've only joined groups out of curiosity and then been disappointed.

Xbox Ambassador: Feel free to ask any questions you might have about a Xbox issue in a PM to me. I may be able to help!

Basically, if I see it being a success, or I having a liking to what is planned or what the group is about, then I'll accept it.

Although, the PM has to be quite informative of what goes on, or I'll just ignore it.

Delete pm and move on. Easy decision for me.

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

If it appeals and or applies to my interests, I'll likely join. Or if I know the creator and the crowd, and I'd enjoy participating in the group, then that would also be a deciding factor. Otherwise, delete PM and move on.

The Risk Is Worth The Reward.
Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War.

Same there, I often block the sender if I don't join the group lol.

I actually join the group on the spot. If the place keeps my interest I'll stay for awhile.

PM's are so abysmally inadequate that I refuse to use them except on rare occasion.

I'm trying to become an '04, but it's not working too well."

I'd rather try to get into a group than be invited to one, unless it was an invite from someone that i knew.

Getting PMs from people i've never seen post before headlined by 'Hey, i saw you posting in the [insert forum here]' remind me of my first Yahoo Email account.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

This

I hate getting spam mail from people.

There have only been 2 groups I have joined from invites and I only joined becuase they were both well known groups that are fairly active.

Words of wisdom all around, but no one ever seems to listen. The words are all around but the words are only sound. But nobody seems to listen. Instead they'll say, "Well how could we of known?" I'll tell em, "It's really not so hard to tell. keep adding stones, and the water gets lost in the well."

Join groups, have fun. It's not some crazy moral dilema where you have to weigh out rewards against consquences, its just other people who play halo.

Anything above that general fact, is stupid and egotistical. Their not cults or religious organizations, their groups.

Not to mention, if you get upset when someone sends you a promotional message, and it actually angers you, then the problem lies with you.

Groups are fun.

I used to get invites during the Halo 3 period. Most of the time I didn't join any of the 'em cause I was never really that active.

  • 01.02.2012 11:52 AM PDT

Boltshot = mini shotgun

I've joined five groups, and currently am only a member of 1.
I have gotten more invites than groups I've joined, though. I look at the quality and layout of the main page of the private group first, the number of members, and the founder before accepting the invitation.

  • 01.02.2012 11:53 AM PDT

I r guy who gun to teach u lesson

Meh, I co-founded a group with 147 members now, but the forum is dead. I just can't find a way to get active members without using methods people hate...

An invitation to join must indicate that the group is in need of more members, and I do not answer the call.

Radio: We've got a new contact,Uknown classification
Admiral:it isn't one of ours, take it out
Master Chief: This is Spartan One One Seven, can anyone hear me? Over
Admiral: Isolate that signal, Master Chief do you mind telling me what your doing on that ship?!
Master Chief: Sir, I'm so lost it ain't even funny!

I and members of my group never spam members of bungie, we're not elitist but we need specific types of members to make it run smoothly. I joined one group an never looked back, groups are struggling just now, every day I look at threads about groups crying out for members, here I see members who want to join we need to get this thread to the people in that 'other group'.

Our group is fairly active still, though it seems that any group that didn't hit high levels of activity is really feeling the pinch just now, we based ourselves around Forge, got a lot of help from Bungie on the front page and we're still here. We welcome new members, we're laid back, we're fun, we meet regularly on Fridays and we produce vids to celebrate, I invite you all to take a chance and join the next group that crosses your path and take the time to get to know this group, who knows maybe it will take you in a new direction.
