Subject: Bungie's New Game

Recently Bungie has been quite quiet on what there next game will be. It has been 1 year 3 months and 23 days and Bungie has yet to reveal anything substantial. The question I have is if Bungie is usually so secretive about their next game. I know it might be a new franchise and people think it might be a MMO, which I think not, but whats their reasoning behind the Iron Curtain they have been behind? So what do you think?

Bungie.Match.com: Our Johnson knows what the ladies like.

They want to keep the new IP a surprise.

They have always been this way to my knowledge. In the past we knew it would be a new addition to the HALO series, this time its different so we feel more in the dark than normal.

So with the new update --- See you starside next year.* *Not secret code. We're just going on holiday break. :)

Do you think they might release new information after Christmas break? Or are they just telling us they might be quieter than 'normal'?

IMO I don't think we will hear anything until later in year.

Hmmm seems nowadays with all the new games being remakes, i.e COD 4, and with Bungie being one of the few companies I have stuck with since the beginning, Halo franchise wise. I'm just 'disappointed' that they haven't released much other than Destiny...

"Find The Bomb?!
Find The Bomb?!
I'm Looking For The Flag!
What The Heck Is Assualt!?"

They actually haven't released a ton of game yet to say that this is how, "They always are."

It has only really been a full company since Halo 1 in my opinion, and they couldn't be super secret about an IP that they had already released the first few games of.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

I personally can't see them releasing any details till about the middle of next year at the earliest.

If you mean within after Christmas break to infinity, yes. If you mean relatively within the season, not really. If you mean within the next month, not at all.

I'm sure that they aren't trying to tell us anything subliminal (in the written words, at least), in fact, they've gone out of their way to say that it doesn't mean anything subliminal. They're just saying a simple and innocent happy holidays and that they'll still be around next year.

You make it seem like you didn't even bother reading it for what it's clearly worth at first glance, if you guys go tearing it apart in the desperate attempt to find some candy or gold.

< Answer to original post inquiry: "Why so secretive?">

Haven't you noticed that all the other companies in the game industry are releasing titles left and right, but each is just the run of the mill game? In fact, releases such as Call of Duty and Battlefield are quite similar, at least in conceptualization.

Take a look at Bungie, however. In the present, they are quiet and clandestine. In the past, they have always increased the level of quality in their works. In the future, they will continue to better the quality of their works.

From leaps like Pathways to Marathon, to immense teleports as from Marathon to Halo, Bungie never ceases to amaze thousands of individuals in their seemingly endless aurora of glory.

Each time was a result of secretive, dark, and chiropractor-closing work.

Patience is a virtue, my friend.

We have but only 15.193792102158E+9 years until the universe closes, after all.

Well I wasnt thinking that there was a subliminal message behind the update. My thoughts were that someone might have a little more information on the timeline and could give me a better idea of when to expect new information. And Yes I did mean within the next month.

@CmdrScott1701
I agree with you on all of that. Guess I am just a bit antsy.

Well, games in their early stages are very chaotic and malliable. The game as it is now could be drastically different from the game when it is fully released. As a result there's no reason to talk about the game right now, why tease gamers with images of a game mode that might not make it into the final game? Better to wait to reveal the game when it solidifies more. I honestly don't expect to see anything more than teasing hints before E3 2012.

It's be a lot easier to tell if you're talking to me, if you quoted me. I'm just using this thread to shoot off what I already thought of the people that go hunting. It wasn't exactly directed to you.

As much as the anticipation is killing me, I personally enjoy the mysteriousness of it.

I was going to quote you but thought it would have been easier not to, but it wasn't. BTW is there a easy way to quote or do I just quote you manually with all the brackets and such?

And ya I wasn't taking it personal

I thought there might be a way to do it that I didn't know about. Like just copy pasting your writing and it did the 'Posted by' thing. Not having to put all the [B] & [QUOTE] things...

You've certainly used the "quote" button before.
