Seriously what do you think will happen will he die, will he survive or you don't hve a clue. I think because the chief is a hero he will die, for a hero to really fulfil his destiny he has to die for what he is fighting for, sad I know but it will be a great ending to a great game whatever happens.

I hope the chief doesn't die but in my heart i think he will.

It's not a legitimate question to ask.

Anyone with a half a brain can see that from the beginning of the first book to the end of Halo 2, Master Chief has been set up to die, just like Neo in the Matrix.

A few of the facts:

- He always wins at any cost - winning does not mean living, this mentality is clearly explained in the books as he watches his SPARTAN brothers and sisters die.

- He has unparalleled strength and ability, and keeps fighting - all struggles have to end, even the struggle to survive, and Master Chief would willingly sacrifice himself if the situation demanded.

- He's a superhero and a has a martyr personality, just like all the other SPARTANs.

- It's hinted at all the way through that John operates on luck, not on strength, speed, or intelligence. Luck always runs out sooner or later.

- The story itself demands that the either the ringworlds activate, or the entire story has been some kind of gigantic administrative -blam!--up, and the flood are really nice folk once you get to know them. When the halos are activated, goodbye everything except Cortana...

He may kill himself to save everyone, or he may make it out, and Sarge may ask him a question like, so Chief, you ever gone fishing...?

someone said we'll get to see his face, that i very much doubt. Bungie would probably rather have us keep a perfect image in our minds of what our own chief would look like instead of showing his face and having fans disapointed, which would undoubtably(spelling?) happen
