I've been thinking like about 3000 other ppl and i thought is the gravemind evial at all in halo 2 it looks like he saved the master cheif from death and he helped the arbiter find out the truth a bit and they allied and at the end of halo 2 credits cortana is about to speak to the gravemind so how does this prove he is evial he might be telling her a deep long forgotten secret that only he has heard of over time through rock and earth. But then again where is the gravemind located when the cheif is unconsious he grabs him (thats on halo) and he grabs the falling arbiter (halo also) but is the covenant base on halo because they jumped on those phamtom things and flew there and when you go down the lift as master cheif on th 2nd last level (the lift where u fight the brute captain and cortana says look out he has got a brute shot) thats the spot where the arbiter was de-plated from his gold plates since he was a general and before that it shows that whole building in sum mushroom looking thing so and the gravemind was at the covenant base because he talked to cortana there so how the hell does it travel?????

Edit: Sorry. That capslock and misspelling was killing me.

No Snidely Whiplash was evil, this bloke just wants to survive and ensure his own survival. But to make it better story telling, he is evil.

I believe that the gravemind used In Amber Clad to escape to High Charity. I also believe that it is Pure evil. As soon as it had a ship it gained a way to move the Flood and infect other ships and places.

He doesn't want Halo to be activated, which is good, but he wants supreme control of the galaxy via the flood, which is bad.

Hence Halo 3, the trailer, the end of H2, that is where it all point i think. Cortana will be as important as MC.

I'm certifiable.

Define "evil".

If you use "evil" as "his presence is a threat to all other life in the galaxy" then I'd have to say "yes".

If you use "evil" as "he enjoys inflicting pain on others" then I'd say "probably not".

I don't think Gravemind is out for sick thrills, but I do think that he and the Flood are far too dangerous for everybody else to just "live and let live".

Hey! Let's spell evil wrong 79 more times. Of course he's evil!He wasn't helping out he MC or Arbiter. He sent them both out on a wild goose chase, but they just happened to be successful. It even says he was just getting them out of the way (the MC at least) by Cortana. I forget when, but go back and play the level Regret and you'll see.

Gravemind is evil. Proper grammar is not.

  • 05.10.2006 5:05 AM PDT

Nothing is purely evil. So to say.

Gravemind is in an odd position.

He is the leader of a species that kills so it can live, he kills to live himself. So what he does is primary survival, the will to live.

So, can we be evil for slaughtering chickens for whenever we feel like having schnitzel?

Twelve Large ²

An army of sheep led by a lion would defeat an army of lions led by a sheep.

I don't know what to think.

I guess it all depends on how you look at it.

I'll have you know
that I've become
Indestructible!

The way I see it, he's the embodiment of sin. Or atleast a parallel to all-sin.
Sin=evil.
But, does gravemind=sin?

Very religious sort of evil/good thing happening here.

Agreed. Gravemind is in it for huimself and the survival of the flood. The true bad guy is without a doubt the prophet of Truth.
