Everybody digs so deep into the Halo story, finding whatever they can. How deep is the story, really?

I was thinking about Lost, where virtually everything has a meaning. Do you think Halo is like this?

Read about the Forgotten Spartan I Program
Butane: To protect the world from devastation!
sir_brilliant: To unite all people within our nation!
Rainman89: To denounce the evils of truth and love!
sir_brilliant: To extend out reach to the stars above!
SpaceGhostFlyer: Jessie!
Butane: James!
sir_brilliant: Team Rocket blasting off at the speed of light
Butane: Surrender now or prepare to fight
sir_brilliant: Meowth, that's right!

NO, Halo is one thousand times better. Actullay, 1,003 times better.

I know that Halo has some references to human history and the Bible...
I want to know if Miranda know the details of her fathers death, and how the Master Chief punched his head in. Because I remember a scene was talked about on the special features disk where Miranda straps a bomb to MC's back and shoves him down a hole. Of course this was deleted. It was probably only written because of Jason's relationship status at the time apparently, but maybe she will get really angry and do something stupid when she finds out, if she finds out...

Lost just build up to something big and we all get excited... then nothing happens, Now halo on the other hand has an incredible way of creating excitment, and bungie dont need to make everything have a meaning, that would make the story too complex... i think.
