Because otherwise the DMR becomes too efficient, that's why. It will also make the game more host-dependent, like Halo3 was.

I would agree killtimes must down a bit anyway, but removing it will wreck the game imo. Just reduce the recover time a tad.


Even the other day, I matched 2 teams of australians, and before my teammate and I were hit, he was winning 1v2 against one team, and we beat the other team 3 times in a row while on yellow bar.


I know, I'm amazing right :)

I did that like 3 times that day, actually.

Halo 3 would have been perfect with 75% melee damage, 110% movement speed and either the pistol having a 2x scope similar to CE/Reach or BR being starting weapon in all default gametypes. If it had those changes to default settings, it would have been the PERFECT game.

Well, destroy Orbital and rebalance Guardian and the rest wouldn't be too bad.

I pulled host about 1% of my games in H3, and I managed 5 50s, and almost 2000xp in slayer alone. 2 of my 50s came from snipers and swat, 2 of the most host dependent playlists in the game, and yet I rarely ever had a problem with it.


"Host-dependant" doesn't mean you actually have host to do good, but that you either have it, or have very good ping to it.

You can naturally do good against bad players on any connection, but that is irrelevant.

Are you assuming I played nothing but bad players?

I was a snipers warrior for a little while, and I have beaten pretty much every kid worth mentioning in that playlist at least once. Including kids like darksniper, who is aussie and pulls host every game. There host may have affected the game slightly, but I still beat them anyway.

And of my almost 2000xp in slayer almost all my games are against good players. Only now in 2011, do I match the majority of retards, but thats to be expected.

Oh and my friend zTranstion, who is aussie btw, is a great example of not needing to be host dependent. I have seen him drop +16 against top slayer kids on yellow bar, and numbers you wouldnt even believe on his host. He can be 3 bar, and will beat most people on full green.

Saying H3 was host dependent is a little true, but only for connection warriors who depended on host to win. Anyone with good teamwork, and knowledge of the game could top host every time, regardless of the match.

I agree with this yes. I havent played Reach in awhile but all of those things really annoyed me. The grenades are a bit overpowered as well.

The vehicles not only couldnt take that much damage, but the mechanics in them arent that great either. If one doesnt constantly hold the LT button in a warthog it will flip over if someone practically sneezes. Also, when in the air and one shoots the warthog, it acts like its a plastic toy getting tossed around. In reality, a 4 ton Warthog wouldnt budge if it was shot at. Just like in Halo 3, that never happened when the vehicle was shot in the air.

And for Armor Lock, everyone hated it. Its sole purpose was to stop from being splattered and unexpected nades. It shouldnt have been as long as five seconds, thats ridiculous. It should have been two and at the most three seconds long and stickies shouldnt have been able to bounce off of them.

I'm aware there was a title update apparently, but like i said i havent been on in awhile to experience some of the changes.

how does any of what you said have anything to do with the OP?

All the competitive players wanted that stuff removed, and essentially what you describe you hated, is what we despised. Thats why MLG is no bloom, no sprint.....

I will complain about host all game, dont even think I wont.

Still doesnt change the fact that a bad host cant be overcome by a good team and a fundamental understanding of the game.
