Yes, when a tree "has to go" it makes fruit.

Go tell your science class that you heard it on the Internet.

You made a similar thread about this two yars ago. Saying that we should treat the newbies with calm and patience. The opposite of this thread's intentions. Its funny how people change.

Subject: More than just a website

Devil is Double is Deuce and Joker always trumps Deuce.

Lately, I've noticed a rather significant amount of threads popping up, 'warning' us about the inevitable flood of new members.

Yes, the days leading to Halo 3 will be chaotic and crowded, just as they were in the days leading up to Halo 2. But do you know what I remember more about those days than the huge influx of members? How much fun those days were. Every little tidbit we could get from a reliable source, we shared. Every theory, we discussed. Every Update, we debated. Yes, it was chaotic. But that was half the fun. If anything, that chaos and anticipation turned this seemingly random assortment of people into a community.

Some of the people I met and debated with back then, I still keep in contact with, thru XBL and other means. In fact, I've spent so much time with these people that we consider each other friends. Imagine, people from opposite ends of the country/world brought together through a website devoted to a game.

I know that the same will happen now, and in the months to come. Theories will be formed and debated, Updates will hold our interest for weeks. And I know that the newer members will be just as much a part of this as the older members. Because Bungie.net isn't just a website. It's a tightly-knit community.

Lots of new members? Bring 'em on. I know that each of them will help make the wait til Halo 3 all the better.

-Just my two cents.
