With Cortana in the hands(or tentacles if you will) of Gravemind, she's pretty much out of the loop (for a while at least). Meaning that the chief now has no one to bark him around.
So I was wondering, will the chief get a new A.I. assigned to him? The chief can do without one, but with Earth under attack, I assume he would like to have someone to handle the battle & tactic analysis, communications and other tasks Cortana used to take care of.
However, in Halo 2, the chief seems to get more orders from others, such as admiral Hood and Keyes, etc. And I expect Halo 3 to continue this trend. The chief getting his orders true a COM channel from various commanders and such, rather than a new A.I.
I do hope he gets a new one, the Halo universe is filled with them, yet in the games the only one we ever get to see is Cortana. I would even take pleasure in seeing a Dumb A.I in the game, and you won't even to take orders from them. Perhaps just a few in certain cutscenes and such.
It isn't just about gameplay, but it would make the game just a bit more "rich".
