Goat, you and your cronies have single handily helped the self destruction of this game and franchise. These threads are pointless and every other hate thread your circle created in the past.

There I said it.

^mad as hell.

Single handedly? Nah, I play with BOTH hands, thank you very much. Not with my feet, like you do.

The elimination of VIP. Think about it--one player is randomly handicapped at the start of the game and then all of the other players have to either protect them or escort them somewhere. Sounds fun right? Not when you get the VIP who runs out in the Elephant by themselves and heads straight to the enemy team. VIP requires 'honor rules' to play. In a matchmaking setting, randoms are not going to play the game the way it was meant to be played, which is why I think it was wise for Bungie to dedicate their resources to the development of other gametypes.

Like Headhunter.

lol

I disagree. VIP was a great gametype. We used to mod it to do all kinds of things on halo 3. Maybe it was better suited to action sack. but it didn't need to be removed. The last thing halo needs is a lack of gametypes. Variety is really the only thing keeping it afloat.

And so God called Moses to come forth but he came fifth and was therefore disqualified.

I hated VIP.

I also have proof that they were going to put VIP in Reach as well.

VIP was awesome when played with an organised team.
headhunter is just plain horrible. Goats just lost 100 points of cred imo for that statement.

The bit on Headhunter was a joke because it's probably the worst gametype in the game.

  • 01.07.2012 8:25 PM PDT

i actually like VIP and dont really like headhunter, especially when your the only guy on your team doign all the work

  • 01.07.2012 8:30 PM PDT

Wrong, the one thing they got right was netcode.

Headhunter pro was awesome.

Because 9/10 times the retards you played against couldn't get a headshot.

Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

VIP was easily the most boring gametype in Halo 3.
Good thing it was taken out.

Dolphins, man. Dolphins. They are gonna take over the world, and kill us all, man! THEY'LL KILL US ALL! Oh no, they will start with Gondile. Haha, hell if they are gettin' me! No way man, I'll kill 'em. I'll kill them all!!!

VIP kicked ass and will continue to kick ass in my custom games.

BTW, there is only ONE thing Bungie got right....

The beginning to Long Night of Solace.

Actually two things they got right.

Wait...

No, nevermind, one thing.

Wrong, the one thing they got right was netcode.

I distinctly remember going blackscreen in Reach at least threefold more than H3. In fact, almost every game I play in Reach ends up migrating host at least twice.

I may as well change my gamertag to "Stuck on Respawn"

God, I hear that... That host migration bull was the deciding factor for me to start going with Battlefield..

I'd prefer black screens over Halo 3's red bar hosts that never ever changed.

I was about to say I prefer red bar, but then I remembered it's the reason why I'm not playing H3 atm

I don't like Reach's netcode cause I'm always the one who lags out after the blackscreen. It rarely lets me reconnect to the host.

  • 01.07.2012 8:50 PM PDT

And yet we still have morons that rally against dedicated servers.

That's more likely an issue with your connection.

Even when I played on dial-up I rarely had issues connecting to the new host.

My connection doesn't give me any problems outside of reconnecting to the host in Reach.

It is strange how some games have problems while others don't.

For example I cannot join any games in warfail 3 while I can easily join games without problems in warfail 2.

  • 01.07.2012 9:09 PM PDT

Some games may use ports other than 88 and 3074. If you don't have UPnP enabled you may have to figure out what ports they are and forward them manually.

Did you know that Team Fortress 2 was originally intended to have one player as a "battlefield commander" with an overhead view of the map that could call out instructions on how to defeat the enemy? It was scrapped because it would suck if your battlefield commander was not doing his job or if his soldiers did not listen to him.
