who do you think it should follow? (grunt, elite, brute chieftan etc..) Also, would it work.
Personally i think that this special campain should follow an elite and should feature some the major human failures that have taken place throughout the human-covenant war.

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

Nobody wants it because halo is "only about humans".

  • 12.24.2011 5:19 PM PDT

yes, but what if it did exist?

Hmm, showcasing human failures? So you want to be a covenant soldier sluaghtering civilians? Because civilians are the majority of humans killed. Having an entire game designed around that is ethically questionable to say the least.

that was normally due to glassing.

And since it would be a game obviously it would be ground engagements verse the UNSC. Not to mention the covenant spans thousands of years so it could be told in hundreds of formats.

They invaded by ground first, killing a lot of civilians in the process. Examples being, Harvest, Reach, Kholo, Earth, Sigma Octavus(I belive that's its name), Jericho VII, Arcadia, ect, ect, ect. But good point on the span of the Covenant. A game around the Elite-Prophet war would be good, with a campaign for each side(Probably the elite's taking place early in the war when they were einning, and the prophets at the end of the war when they were winning).

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

If they ever did, we need a firefight gametype which is called ''Defend the Nipple''.

Yes, its called the Halo 2 Arbiter Missions.

There's your Covenant Campaign.

What a waste....

Arbiter.

I WANT MOAR.

And the firefight should be defend the food nipple instead of generator defense.

Id rather play 10 MC campaigns then 1 covie one.

Infact halo is about "Forerunners and what they left for humans".

Make a game where you can play whatever Covenant you like. I for one would love to be a Drone, or a Skirmisher.

There is a reason why Bungie never had you kill Humans when playing as the Arbiter. Playing as the advocate of tyranny, helping to commit mass genocide and killing soldiers who are fighting to protect their families and their species from extinction from a blatant war of aggression is extremely unethical and goes against everything Halo stands for thus far.

I think that is probably the reason why we do not have games set in WWII from the Nazi's viewpoint.

Perhaps a Sanghelli campaign, where the Elites face off against the Brutes. (aka The Great Schism)

Otherwise, the next Covenant campaign would probably get blown to hell by every censor board in the world.

At least in GTA the cops come after you. The worst that happens to the Covenant is some rinky human military force comes to try and stop them. And in GTA the point of the game isn't to kill civilians, that is the player's choice. If you were the Covenant, not only would you not be punished for your merciless killing(You would actually probably be getting promotions), it would also be the entire point of the game.

So yes, morally questionable.
