Que Custodiet Ipsos Custodes

--Tea-baggers are funny, it's as if they think they are far more hetero than the people who do it in real life, because they use their e-ballsacks to do it. What a manly victory dance.

Eric Idle has a great song about them, you should check it out.

Man, have you seen parents these days? I was born in '81, back when if your kid -blam!- up, it was perfectly fine to beat their ass. Now you get children's services called on you.

If you want to leave the parenting to the parent, make sure the parents are parenting first.

There are superior ways to handle children rather than abusing them... You can strike fear or earn respect.

I agree many parents these days are terrible, but it's their responsibility.

A good solid volley of swats on the ass is no where anything NEAR abuse. Though I suppose the definition of abuse is open to interpretation.

No one has a right to put their hands on you without consent. Touching in anyway that is non-consensual is abuse.

When a parent has to resort to striking a child it's because they have failed as a parent and don't know how to handle the situation in a more efficient manner.

There are such things as parental rights, however. And the age of consent as well.

A familiar situation in parenting, is a child not wanting to go to bed. Say you've asked nicely, you then tell them sternly, you raise your voice a bit more, and still they refuse. Say you give in, let them stay up all night. They zonk out at school or whatever the next day. That is also a failure of parenting, and now you have the school on your ass for not taking better care of your kid and putting them in bed on time.

And lest we not forget "Spare the rod, spoil the child".

At any rate, you tossed this up on the Flood? Would be better I move to that thread to continue discussion.
