I think your theory is the best about everyone having to activate the Halos. Do you think it is because the Flood will get to strong to control in any way? I know where ill go if i die.

well im sure that the arbitor is going to continue the fight against the flood, but honestly i think that this point the flood cant be stopped

as for the humans being the forerunners it might be possible, but it was discussued that the forerunners activated the rings to stop the flood which would kill them all, then add in the millions of years that evolution takes place

Alright, I've figured out the ending, and here it is.

For all of you who think that Master Chief is going to die at the end, it wouldn't make sense, it wouldn't fit in the theme of the Halo games. Throughout the games there has been countless Religious symbolism and allusions, obvious ones are the Covenant, the Flood, and even the games title, Halo. So, with all that in mind, here's the ending.

Remember the Arbiter. Arbiter means judgement, or judge. At the beginning of Halo 2 we saw the Arbiter hung up in a cross like fashion, much like the crucifiction, making an allusion to Jesus. His name is the Arbiter, so, has anyone heard of Pantacrater Jesus?

Moving on, the only logical endind is to have the Arbiter become a Martyr and die for his people, making another allusion to Jesus and the Arbiter will make the ultimate Judgement of his people. Believe me, Bungie has planned this out from the beginning, there is no flying by the ear endings here, it's methodical.

I think, at the most, Master Chief will go MIA and the human race will never see him again, because he is no longer needed.

Any thoughts?

Almost everything you said here is correct, The Arbiter gives his life to safe the MC also. He fends of Gravemind from killing the MC by planting a plasma grenade deep inside of Gravemind. MC is hten picked up by Johnson and the last words stated in the game are by Johnson and MC

The complete ending is this::

MASTER CHIEF
Cortana was on the ring. But there
was something else, something wrong
about her.

JOHNSON
I’m sure they can replicate her,
Chief.

MASTER CHIEF
You’re wrong about what you said.

JOHNSON
What’s that?

MASTER CHIEF
It’s not over.

EXT. BOTTOM OF THE INDIAN OCEAN
At the bottom of the Indian Ocean, the Arbiter has been fully
submerged atop a large section of coral. Although the depth
is great, his body has not surrendered to the pressure. The
debris and rubble from Installation 01 has come to rest
around the Arbiter. A blue light flickers near a console only
a few meters above him.

Suddenly, a bright blue mist leaks out from the console and
there is the eerie sound of a female voice, whispering and
chanting. The mist hovers across the expanse between the
console and the Arbiter and wraps around the Arbiter’s body.
CLOSE ON FACE: Without warning, his eyes open, shining an
intense blue light. With a gurgled scream, air escapes his
lungs.

CUT TO CREDITS:

The ending makes me believe that their will be some other game Related to Halo as that ending provided by a leaked script (trustworthy) doesn't not provide any closure.

I'd like to see a reward for completing the single player campain at Legendary, perhaps the award of say 2000 or more credits on Xbox Live Market Place, etc.

I know so maybe the master chief will go away because he is not needed, but they may encounter a new halo that they are going to need to be protected so the master chief will come back and they might even make a Halo evolution if sales go well with Halo 3 maybe they planned that out also dont you think!!!!!

I know that in another topic i wrote that it could have been a dream.... I have had dreams where it's perception of the future... whats the word??? damn i cant think of it at the moment... but anyway... maybe MC is resting up at a human space station where he has met back up with Hood.... and he received the transmission while he was resting and then it summoned this vision of what may happen.... just thought that what if that transmission that showed cortana... wasn't for the chief.... what if it's actually for the arbiter... i mean it makes sense... shield and sword... covenant technology isn't it??? maybe it's a mixtured message of both... half for MC and half for Arbiter....

Sure, Legendary is hard, but Veteran on Call Of Duty 2 is a hell of a lot harder and it only gives you 60 points. And also the cap for gamerpoints on any one game is 1,000. And if your not talking about gamerscore and your talking about marketplace points....2,000 is about $20 and I know that bungie/microsoft are not going to waste $20 of their Halo 3 profit on some kid who just beat legendary.

Im not sure about the religous parts, not sure if thats how they want it to flow.

But I do agree that the arbiter will die , and MC will remove his helmet in the deserts of Africa , and walk into Horizon. PERFECT ENDING!

Realy nice theory.
I think the Arbiter will have role in halo 3's story, and i think you might be right.
But never forget that as we we're suprised by adding the arbiter, we can be suprised by whatever will apear in halo 3.

The dream ending is a bit out there, it could be true, but you should know that my ending has nothing to do with the trailer, actually teaser would be a better name for it. I just merely predicted the game as how Bungie has set it up to be.

I'm not claiming to know exactly how it's going to go, no doubt Bungie has some curve balls coming our way, but more or less, that is the likely ending.

*NOTE* ANBU Cyrus and myself are friends, and I typed my theory on his account because he was logged in at the time.

II Div3rsion II, how trustworthy is that script, because although it does give credit to my argument, I find myself questioning its validity.

qutoe from honsttyrizzle : I dont even know. I'm spechless. Cortana has betrayed and MC is left alone...

when cortona states, i know you your past, your future... perhaps she is trying to save him... did you not notice the ships were flying in the same direction as he was.. perhaps he betrayed everyone.. and cortona has to try and lour him back... but that would be bad gameplay... scratch that

This is my version of halo 3 ending

The arbiter and MC are working together even tho they dont lyk each other. after a while the arbiter gives up( or goes off somewhere)

now it comes to the end, MC is vastly outnumberd and he gets badly injured (hes bleeding with holes in his suit etc etc) he needs to activate a bomb (or whatever) to stop the covenant and there plans. hes crawling to the bomb ( the convanent laughing and hitting him) then the arbiter jumps in n grabs the activation key (for the bomb, out of MC's hand) and then the brutes start fighting him, only for loads of elites to come in and start a huge battle then the arbiter activated the bomb (or disables the coveanents plans)

Er- I could see how that could work, but I have a feeling Bungie will be a lot more dramatic than that.

And for some weird reason I still believe Chief will be alive after all this is over, I'm almost positive of it. However, like I said, I believe he'll self-excile himself and disapper from any contact from Humans, and the Covenant and the humans will continue on from this point on being neutral.
