Live will kick much more arse. But it will definitely be available on Xbconnect. Every game that is made with system link capabilities can work with XBC. It will be a whole lot better on Xbox Live though.

eh, im gonna be in college, and my -blam!- campus has a firewall that doesnt let us play ANY games online, all we have is LAN, so id only be playing over the holidays, hopefully they take the firewall off next year :( many tears

And other un-confirmed things. The thing is, for XBC you are limited by whatever system link options Bungie includes. I imagine Live will have more options than system link.

The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

I have experience no lag at all on XBL and Halo 2 will be better supported than any game out there.

Barring odd playing schedules (can't get to XBL or XBC 90% of the time), then XBL for $50 walks all over XBC for free, even barring the cool little XBL things like messaging, voice chat, and whatever else. XBC lags really bad sometimes, whereas I don't see much in the way of lag on games over XBL. Also, the ease of finding a game will be... Wow. It's so hard finding a game for two people over XBC, let alone one.

Bottom line: XBL > XBC. By a lot. XBL may even be worth it just for the holidays, since XBC makes me want to shoot somebody while I try to find a good game (I may be picky, but... argh...), imagine how bad it'd be if there was another, better multiplayer service most people were using. I think we'll only see half as many people gaming over XBC for Halo 2, and that's tops.
