I've bought the Noble map pack 27 times now.

Noble Map Pack: 800 M$ points

800 points = $10.00

27 x 800 = 5,000 points or $270

Waste of $260.00 unless you have 26 alts.
Thanks for clearing that up Dr. Ken.

Dude, he's not a Doctor.

But... He showed me the certificate...

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

Who would ever want to advertise to this target audience?

Ready are you? What know you of ready? For eight hundred years have I trained Jedi. My own council will I keep on who is to be trained. A Jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind. This one a long time have I watched. All his life has he looked away... to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph. Adventure. Heh. Excitement. Heh. A Jedi craves not these things. You are reckless.” -Yoda

I don't mind it at least its not one of those pop ups that say "thank you our 99,999,999,999 visitor!!!!!!"

even though that's way over the entire human population.

Why the -blam!- would they advertise other companies products?

Their revenue is generated through software, not ads on their website (for/about their software).

I'm going to wager that Bungie is weird and doesn't like money, or they probably just don't enjoy having advertisements for external products on their site.

Who visits this site? Gamers.

Why kind of ads would work best for gamers? Gaming ads.

What kind of ads would have to be banned because of conflict of interest? Gaming ads.

And there you have it. Marketing 101.

I was a finalist :P

It should solely be Bungie related advertisements only, to at least provide themselves with more forms of revenue. I wouldn't understand why they'd advertise other products (unless they were receiving some sort of commission).

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

Sketchfactor once asked us about site ads. The Septagon was in near unanimous agreement that Bungie related ads were fine, but 3rd party annoying flashy horribly suspicious and unsecured ads (the kind on pretty much every other site) would severely annoy us. Sketch pretty much agreed, and seemed to possess the exact same attitude towards ads. So unless I'm completely making this up (which is possible) Bungie didn't want to annoy us with annoying ads, thus wanted their ads to actually have a point.

I never really even looked at our site ads. The only reason I know they're still about the Noble Map Pack is because this thread said so. I don't think I've ever payed attention to them, and I'd honestly prefer it could stay that way.

The Classifieds idea has some merit. If it was solely about on topic Classifieds business (group ads, maybe some Ride Along ads, etc) it would probably be beneficial.

I'm sorry, but how did you identify Papa's post as serious? It's obviously just in jest.*

*If i'm wrong then /facedesk.

I didn't think he was serious, who would spend $260.00 on noble map packs?

Thats like saying 'Who would waste so much money on Bungie swag?'. You should make a new account and call it Irony.

Sadly, that name is taken.

Giggity Giggity Goo - Quagmire

I think it is nice that they don't have external ads. It makes it look more professional. There are a lot of game developers sites without ads.
