Always up for REACH customs!

I'm trying to add some teleporters to my map Rolling Thunder (main thread here, http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=68668927&v iewreplies=true#end) to teleport vehicles up from the ground level to a bridge high in the air. Warthogs go through fine, but sometimes when I drive a Wraith or Revy through, the top teleporter randomly launches the vehicle in the air.

Teleporting the vehicles to a high bridge is essential to the map.

Supposedly "teleporter launching" is a known bug with Reach's physics engine. Is there anything that can be done to make this not happen?

Where I plan to put the teleporters is in the place of the Man Cannons that launch the vehicles up to the upper bridges, visible at 2:05 in this video.

Ohai, I'm Loscocco (pronounced Loss-cocoa). I'm a college student (computer science major), 3D animator, and long-time Halo player.

What about using shield doors/one-way shield doors/gravity lifts around the receiver to break any out-of-control speeds?

Grav lifts might work...

Please...stop getting butthurt when I noscope you from the passenger seat of the vehicle I'm riding in :D

The teleporter needs raised. IIRC, the teleporter when it puts you through makes it to where your physical body appears where the teleporter light is. In a vehicle, this can cause the vehicle to have collision errors with ground/terrain/etc, thus causing your issues. Try raising your receiver nodes about 10 feet up off the ground and see if that helps.

I would try one-way shields first. A person/vehicle going through the blue side of one slows down immensely; they're very good for breaking falls and stopping things from going too fast when used correctly.

I was just about to suggest this.

Are the vehicles flipping out because they collide with the receiver node?!

Don't think so. I've never had this problem, but I doubt vehicles will flip out if they come through a teleporter that's a few feet off the ground.

EDIT: Maybe the change of ground/level is what sets it off?

The change of ground/level is the entire point.

I have the vehicles going up an incline before they enter the bottom teleporter. Since the top bridges are perfectly flat would it help if the surface where the entrance teleporter is was flat as well?

Always a possibly. If that doesn't work, then you're gonna have to toy around with shields/raising the receiver.

Ok, listen to me. The VEHICLE is having COLLISION ERRORS with the GROUND. RAISE the TELEPORTER off of the GROUND to fix ERROR. See link below for (crude) drawing of what is happening and how to fix it.

This picture should more than show you what is going on.

I tried raising the teleporter. I tried raising the ground teleporter. I tried teleporting the vehicle into the air. I tried switching to the other bridge. I tried putting the lower teleporter on flat ground. I tried putting the upper one on an incline. No matter what I do, Covie vehicles still flip out.
