If pro is the opposite of con, then the opposite of progress is...

IMO Reach isn't a bad game; it simply left behind many things we knew and love from the past halo games.

Ex: No bloom, exchanging equipment for AA's, the FRIGGIN BR, etc.

Hey, uh, if you like vs threads, then check out this little group right here, if you have the time. It's pretty fun, just hop right in.

Reach is alright, at least compared to Halo 2 and 3.

Halo 1 makes all the others look like manure by comparison.

Well I mean the lack of Bungie doing anything from the beginning. I guarantee if this was the product released from the start with the current w/l system in arena we might be ok.

  • 12.27.2011 10:43 AM PDT

Please drop price of ODST or at least put maps on marketplace Bungie! :(

Bloom, no need to win to gain XP (just like a CoD copy), rank resets, health packs, armour abilities, and only one person can view theater at once.

Bloom is idiotic, even 85% Bloom has randomness. If Halo 4 has an ounce of the Reach bloom system, I have lost hope in multiplayer.

The CE remake only proves how well CE has aged with time. There is a reason Halo CE sold the Xbox. If Reach was a launch title for the Xbox, Halo would not be nearly what it is today.

The thread is about why reach is a bad game, not if reach is a bad game or not. If you have played another other halo game this is easy to recognize. Lol opinions, lolreach.

The poll is biased I would suggest you add a vote option of "I am for reach" or " I found no problems with reach" to balance out the voting options.

  • 01.02.2012 6:31 PM PDT

i actually enjoy Reach. I definitely prefer playing MLG but I dont mind playing other playlists. If you havent gotten used to the game by now, there is no chance of you ever likeing it.

You're stats make you look like a moron (JK JK).

To be directly honest with you, I don't consider reach a bad game, but do consider it to be a bad halo game. The experience of reach is too different from the other halos and I don't enjoy this "new" formula. The last post I made wasn't serious at all, and neither was this thread. Also reach has many balance issues that need to be fixed.

The netcode, forge, and custom options are the wins on reach. Now the maps make me mad especially since most of the maps are small when playing team snipers. I can't stand anything more than a sniper battle in cqc it gets nowhere generally.

all of the above. plus a few more things like armor abilities, progressive rank system, no ranked playlists, and so on.

If I had a Rocket Launcher, I'd make somebody pay.

Calling Reach a bad game is a bit an overreaction in my opinion. While it sure isn't perfect, Reach has been a lot of fun playing for me.

However I have to say I'm not a big fan of the majority of maps that are available on launch. They're not that special compared to the ones used in the original trilogy. Sure there are FW-remakes, but after a while I got kind of tired of the rather dull aesthetics.

The anniversary maps made want to play Reach again in the classic playlist. It is so much better when there are no armor abilities, just the classic formula of some blam! carnage.

The plot in the campaign was pretty bland too. Fun to play, but really nothing that was particularly mind blowing or memorable

While I liked that Bungie tried to be a bit more innovative, rather just iterating the same stuff over again, they made Reach be too much like a CoD game

Please do not send me "recruitment messages" as I'm not interested in joining any groups currently.

Of that list I'd say maps seeing as we don't have to play with bloom any more.

However my real gripes with the game are definitely the movement and loadouts.

Movement is just sloppy and loadouts take away the "everyone spawns equal" aspect that I lobed about Halo.

Don't get me wrong, I like the game (especially customs where loadouts and bloom etc can be removed and better maps can be played) but it could have been so much more.

Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

I guess I have to say it YET again.

The problem with reach is it's matchmaking.

It forces people to play stuff they would rather not. Which leads to quitting.

And in response to the quitting problem.
They decide to blame us, instead of that god-awful matchmaking system with its retarded voting.

This is the only thing wrong with Halo.
It's been a problem since it was first introduced in Halo 2.

Everything else, is minor -blam!-. AA's, Bloom, Maps, Loadouts...
Are not the issue. The fact that Custom Matchmaking is non-existent is the issue.

Because if we had "Custom Matchmaking" We'd all be playing EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT TO PLAY!
Instead of constantly voting between a Giant Douche and a Turd Sandwich.

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

I feel that the reason why I don't like Halo Reach is mainly because of the people who play the game the way they do. How many times have you been (just to name a few problems) betrayed for something, grenade spammed, and double beat-downed?

  • 01.03.2012 10:12 AM PDT

I mean really, does noone else see the problem in having to come to a forum to -blam!- at the developer to update the playlists?

Why the hell are they in charge of the playlists?
Why are we not seeing that there is a problem in thinking that a handful of playlists is going to satisfy everyone?
Why do you not see the problem in waiting weeks/months/years for the developer to update the playlist...only for that update to satisfy a few and alienate even more in the process?
Why does a playlists have to be removed to make room for a new one?
Why?

When the perfect solution to multiplayer was made years before Halo came along.
And that solution allowed people to set filters and then gave them a list of rooms to choose from..

And somehow this one-armed-bandit....was deemed as a better solution than that?

Make the -blam!- game, but let us decide how we choose to play it.

------------------------
Why are only a handful of people in charge of deciding what map/gametype/settings the entire community is stuck with?

Why do people choose matchmaking over Customs?

When you can answer those, you will have your answer.

You need a decent sized friends list of people who actually play the damn game, in order to bypass matchmaking and go straight to customs.

If you don't have that list of friends, you are stuck with matchmaking. Unless you enjoy playing a custom game BY YOURSELF!

Have you seen what's it's like to make friends with people in this game? If you don't sit on a K/D of 2.0..everyone looks the other way. So unless you're an elitest tryhard who already has a full party you play with all day every day, YOU WILL NEVER PLAY CUSTOM GAMES!

Imagine a new person who just started playing today. Just joined X-Box Live...how does this person go about finding a custom game to join? How long does it take for them to put a list of people together to support custom gaming?
