Bloom was never a problem. I enjoy it. It's better than a spam fest of Best-Connection-Wins.

Uhm... bloom was who ever had the best connection wins. No bloom who has the better accuracy wins.

Well..sometimes that Columbian host plays a tad factor into connection>skill. Just a wee bit.

Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

It should be more like this.

Bloom rewarded whoever had better teamwork.
No bloom rewards those with better connections.

How you consider it any other way than that, is idiotic. Thinking that having bloom comes down to connections...are you serious? you can't be, cause anyone with a brain knows that connections had nothing to do with bloom winning a battle for you.

It certainly plays a role when bullets go to the same spot every time you pull the trigger. Because now, it comes down to hit detection.

Scenario.
2 people of equal skill are shooting at each other with a weapon with zero bloom.
Who wins?
The guy with better connection/hit detection or whoever shot first.

Scenario.
2 people of equal skill are shooting at each other with blooming weapons.
Who wins?
The guy who had help from a teammate, or got lucky through spam.

Believe it. Bloom actually took host advantage down a notch.. and you -blam!-es cried about it. Which is no surprise cause most of you think this game is all about "YOU". If the game is punishing you for trying to be a Rambo. instead of encouraging teamwork....it's only natural that you cry about it. Because that's just the way you people are.

Let me ask anyone who's reading this a simple question.

How often do you just pick a teammate...and follow them and back them up?

How often do you just, gung-ho. run for the sniper, run for your camping spot. and farm kills all day, ignoring anything else in the match other than your K/D ratio?

How often do you get assists?
Halo Reach, from what I saw was terrible at detecting a legitimate assist, so this is a bs question.

For the most part, Teamwork to this community is putting a bunch of 2.0 K/D "Rambo" players in a room with a bunch of random noobs. Now just because you're awesome sauce and can hold your own, and the rest of your team holds their own. Doesn't make you team players. Cause if you were team players you'd have had ZERO issues, with Bloom.

Unless of course you think 1 spamming noob can consistently take on 2 Team players?

And just for the record. I think substituting host advantage in favor of lucky spam.. WAS A GREAT IDEA!
Because you can overcome that "lucky spammer", you can't do anything about host advantage!

Shortened version.

If bloom was a basic autoaim. Every bullet you shot is gauranteed to hit. Hit detection and host is no longer an issue at this point. It is now simply a matter of who can spit more bullets out faster.

Now you can spam or you can pace.
OR...you can bring a teammate along and put 2 bullets out for every 1 bullet he puts out...gauranteeing you the win.

But lets prioritize individual skill over team skill instead.
And in the process destroy the direction that Halo is SUPPOSED to be moving towards.

Which I think,Halo belongs in the Teamwork, Strategy and tactics FPS section.
Not the same section as Unreal, CoD, Doom..or any other brainless shooter you can think of.

Like I said earlier, the best way to put it in perspective... Is to imagine that Halo comes with a built in Auto-aim.
At that point, the only thing that will make you outshine your competition...is how well you work as a team. It becomes more a game of Chess and proper tactics, instead of..."My twitch skills are better than your twitch skills"

And we have more than enough "Twitch Shooters" on the market.

No I do not want full on auto-aim. But I do think that Bloom was a great common ground between the two.

Ok...not so short version after all....

This leads to something else. Spawn camping.
Perfect example of how Halo is a glorified Chess game.
Only problem is... Halo doesn't know how to determine when Checkmate has been Reached.

In Chess, when you reach Checkmate, it's game over.
In Halo, when you reach Checkmate, it's actually just a check and equivalent to moving your king back and forth between the same 2 spots for the rest of the game somehow hoping that a peice will magically appear and protect your king for you.

Remember its only a game.

People wanting Reach to be Halo 3.1, as opposed to it being a game in its own right.

I would much rather have Halo 3.1 then the Halo/COD hybrid which Reach is.
