first of all at the end of the trailer it says "Finish the Fight"
and if you read the article in Bungie it says and i quote

"That's the type of thing that builds anticipation even more for the payoff to this trilogy we are preparing."

TRILOGY
3 ONLY 3

the only exception thus far is Star Wars
but that wasnt intended to by only one trilogy in the first place

so basically this is the last of the Halo games
it is most likely
but i still believe that anything can happen

I wouldn't even count Star Wars since Lucas left it wide open by putting the Episode number at the beginning of each movie. So right off the bat you thought "Episode IV is the first movie? WTF?". I kind of figured he would eventually make 1, 2 and 3.

It's the conclusion. I think they were careful answering that. They didn't say it was the last. They say it's the conclusion. What's to say they're not then going to do an introduction? Like the novel The Fall of Reach. It's exactly what George Lucas did.

Exactly, they only said it was the conclusion of this story arc. Key words being conclusion and arc.

But honestly I don't think anyone would blame Bungie if they stopped at 3, I mean they must be getting pretty damn tired of the Halo series by now.

He nailed it. Before that post, I thought I was the only one to actually read what Bungie had to say about Halo 3, rather than what everybody else did.

Think about it rationally: Halo was, is, and will Microsoft's most profitable franchise. Why would they end the story at three games when there is so much more money to be had. Plus, if Bungie keeps making Halo games of this caliber (which they most certainly will do) what reason would they have to end it all.

However, that little "conclusion of this story arc" quote raises some interesting questions. What is the next story arc? Who will be the enemy? Could we possibly see a Rogues Gallery for the Master Chief? Halo 4: Master Chief vs. Doc Ock! SWEET!

Threads like this should not even be made. No one needs any extra proof. Read the article Bungie put up guys!

"Bungie announces Halo 3, the third and final game in the Halo Trilogy."

Now if that's not clear enough for you, you need help. So yes, they DID say this is the last one. So stop talking about it.

no offense but even George Lucus didn't think of this. He hadn't already planned a 1 2 and 3. for the record. and you didn't know right off the bat because they weren't originally called episodes IV V and VI. they were just star wars ..star wars the empire strikes back...and star wars the return of the jedi
