I like to Rollick

If Bungie backtracks on dual weilding, then it would seem that they made a mistake in allowing dual weilding to be the revolutionary aspect in Halo 2's multiplayer.

Yeah, other than keeping the Sentinel Beam, it should be switched to this awesome Covenant Assault Rifle, or the normal Assault Rifle.

And possibly now that Master Chief is trying to save the world from the covenant, it wouldn't be a surprise if the humans gave MC the great H1 pistol that we love.

But the problem about having the H1 pistol in the game is imagine, dual wielding with the H1 pistol with another H1 pistol... that would definitley ruin the fun in campaign and multiplayer because of how cheap that kind of combination would be.

if they did put the pistol in it wouldnt work too well if they kept it the same. the zoom being the main problem. How would it work with dual wielding if one gun zoomed and the other couldnt. it'd be kinda screwed up.

If the pistol returns heres what needs to happen to it

- Scope Removes
- 4-5 shot kills (5-8 for Dual wield)
- Rate of fire similar to that of Halo 1
- Less Accurate than Halo 1 (even less when dual weilded)
- Less Range than Halo 1 (even less when dual weilded)

That will make it a good starting weapon and one that is something you can rely on till you find another weapon like the AR or BR.

That's why a new skin should replace the pistol, but keep the main gameplay elements. That way, it's both realistic and good.

The original pistol wasn't overpowered, because EVERYONE started with it. That's the same thing as saying that Master Chief's recharging shield is overpowered.

However, it wouldn't be too horribly bad if it was made to be a four shot kill instead of three shots... that would promptly stop it from being "overpowered" compared to other guns.

I'm sorry, but I disagree with a few things:

- Scope Removes
That would make it a close-range weapon, and we already have plenty

- 4-5 shot kills (7-9 for Dual wield)
It shouldn't be dual-wieldable, but I agree with 4 shot kill.

- Rate of fire similar to that of Halo 1
Yep

- Less Accurate than Halo 1
No, this would make the pistol less skillfull. It should probably be the same accuracy as the original. If it must, only slightly. The 'pistol' should still be a medium/long range weapon.

- Less Range than Halo 1
Maybe slightly, but I don't see a huge range problem with the pistol, mainly because the accuracy tipped off after awhile.

That will make it a good starting weapon and one that is something you can rely on till you find another weapon like the AR or BR.
That's a bad thing. You shouldn't be forced to have to "find another weapon" just to compete. 'Balance' means that every gun can compete equally against every other gun (given that they are both in the best situation suited for each gun). In halo 2, would you drop your battle rifle for a single smg (considering there are no others on the map)? The answer is no, and that's a problem. You should be influenced by weapon choice solely by preference, not by power. In other words, all weapons equal = balance.

That's the point of my version of the pistol though, it isn't like the SMG where you HAVE to get ride of it as fast as possible, this will be a weapon that can compete with the AR and BR except for battles that are say the distance from Sniper Tower and BR Tower on Lockout.

It should be dual wieldable because it will have a slow rate of fire that way it's not like your firing 24 shots in 3 seconds like you do with the current pistol.

And by saying less accurate, the Pistol in Halo 1 was WAY too accurate, im just saying tone it down a little, same with the range on it. It will be a good Close and Medium range weapon and thus make a good starting weapon unlike the SMG which was just a close range weapon.

I respect your opinion, I'm probably just going to disagree with it.

Well, I thought it would be quite cool to have the Halo 1 pistol back, but obviously it needs a balance fix. My idea was half the damage (so 6 headshot kill rather than 3), and it still has a scope etc. but the scope is not useable in dual wield, accuracy goes down, and it also isnt as accurate as before in single wield either, so its still quite long range for a pistol, but at long range not a scrap on something like a carbine. One problem with that is, however, with that pistol, why use the M6C? Maybe put the M6D in the campaign, but not multiplayer. Or, it might just be safer to leave it out altogether. Actually, I'm not too sure...
Now, the M6 pistol that fires 16mm high explosive rounds was the one I was interested in...

this would make everyone happy. keep the br, bring back the ar and the pistol. get rid of the smg's. keep the magnum from h2. the magnums can be dual wielded and being the pistol from h1 was a different model and was so powerful make it two handed

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

I think that...

....The Assault rifle should be brought back, just like it was in Halo 1 but make it more innacurate...

To make up for the innacuracy when being shot fully auto, MC has a scope he utilizes from his visor (like the Halo 1 Pistol), and the New Assault rifle will shoot Burst fire mode like in Halo 2...

..Remove the SMG entirely..

..Keep Dual Wielding in..

..Make the Magnum kill in 11 shots rather than 134..

...Keep the original Pistol out of the game...
