Who the hell do you think I am?

Does this happen often? I mean, I guess it would be hard to tell, since they got deleted, but I'm just wondering, what would be so bad that the mods have to delete the thread all together? I know it's happened plenty of times, but I'm still just wondering...

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I saw it happen when someone made a script to report employee posts.

I <3 you too Bungie

Only if the thread is on something that they really hold dear; like their privacy.

They probably use that for the same purpose that they use the edit tool, but deleting would be used for a large scale problem.

Just a guess.

@Ken: You don't need a script for that. I just realized that would be abuse of the report button... Whoops.

OT: I hope it doesn't happen, but yeah I would expect that it would take something pretty bad. In my opinion, if a thread is deleted, then a user has done something bad enough to warrant a permaban.

Find me anywhere with Pogo947

Well, if it was really bad, to the point of threats or being extremely offensive, than it warrants a complete deletion. Only reason I could see why it would happen.

I've seen threads get deleted before, it happens more often then you make it sound. You might not notice, because the threads mostly disappear without a whisper. I wonder if that's why we call them forum ninjas...

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

Yes, threads have been deleted before. There was a huge pinned thread that was in the Halo 3 Forum that was deleted a long while back. I remember this because I saved the thread. One day, I went to go check the saved threads, and it was missing.

Even then they often just edit them.

There was an epic thread that got deleted in one of my groups, and no one in it knows why...

We miss you Logan.
Ask any question. I'll help with anything on site or off.

It happens. Example. If a user makes a thread where every link you click gives you a virus, or sends you to a inappropriate site ,that wouldn't be locked it would be deleted.
