Ready are you? What know you of ready? For eight hundred years have I trained Jedi. My own council will I keep on who is to be trained. A Jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind. This one a long time have I watched. All his life has he looked away... to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph. Adventure. Heh. Excitement. Heh. A Jedi craves not these things. You are reckless.” -Yoda

The title bar will be cluttered with "mythic" and it seems to redundant.

Best of random chance

I don't like the idea, there's no need for it. We just need different titles.

Bungie won't go for that, this is more of a safe bet.

You're thinking too small vanert, titles need to be expressed to the googolplex.

ie: Mythic*10^10^100

*epithets

Additionally, one could make the 'member' spot variable. you could have *Mythic Members, *Mythic Associates, *Mythic Boss, and *Mythic Kingpin for example.

How tough would it be to say Mythic really fast 5 times in a row?

OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

So, if someone is a Mythic Mythic Mythic Myth-like Member, can we safe to assume that they're not new?

I'd like to be able to have a prefix or suffix part of the title that you could choose. It would be fun. For example, you would be able to go to your profile and look at what prefixes you've unlocked, then choose the one you want to use. Simple, but it would be a cool addition.

At the very least, I think it would be cool to be able to see the titles and prefixes you've qualified for already. Something simple like a list on your profile that shows what you've gotten. Under "Titles" it would have the lower titles such as:

Titles: Mythic (current), Legendary, Heroic, Member.
Prefixes: Fabled (current), Intrepid, Honorable, Senior. (etc.)

I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

I like the idea, but Legendary Legendary member, or anything like that, just sounds sloppy. Too many prefixes.

I like prefixes, and although this is also a good idea... I'm not a fan of seeing a "Mythic Mythic Member".

Get rid of titles.

Agreed;

Verily that these member titles are useless. If anything, they do more harm than good. Users have this reward to look forward to for being an adamant member of Bungie.net, leading to brash, condescending attitude oftentimes, simply because they want to be recognized and gain another title.

Any man in his right mind would see that such a thing is undesirable and to be dismantled. Don't mistake my words for a mere advocate of the devil, as I too believe these things can be fun, just up into the point where someone gets banned for it or transforms into a pompous fool accordingly.

  • 12.27.2011 3:24 AM PDT

The redundant names don't flow well. If having too many Mythic members is really a problem (personally I don't care), then an addition of one new title for the 10 year mark might make more sense (e.g. Immortal Member).

  • 12.27.2011 4:46 AM PDT

Key

Just add another level: "Ancient". Then, when you reach five years on the site, you become an ancient. The next logical step would be the title "Epic", at 7 years. But, before that, at the sixth year, one would acquire the prefix "Grizzled" (making your title 'Grizzled Ancient').

I thought everyone already knew this...

  • 12.27.2011 4:56 AM PDT

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Members that have been around for 7 years should get a
"grizzled ancient" title.
