The ark is made to activate the other halos. Not be a huge explosion. So that must mean it's something else. But what?

Dude, its got to be the ark. Have you seen the H2LEDVD and the concept drawing of the ark and the structure in the trailer look just alike.

"You must face the truth squarely and without flinching from duty. Our enemies are mortal no longer. Mercy for such as they is a chimera, self-deception is its only ally. Dedicate this weapon, given unto your hand at the behest of the Emperor, to their destruction. Regard its function as your only duty: you live only to bring cleansing fire."

maybe it was the ark sending a signal to the other halos, like delta halo sent that signal at the end of halo 2

maybe that's why the ships didn't break formation. but it's still wierd. seeing as a whole bunch of wind went flying everywhere. and the ground the masterchief was on started to crumble away. i didn't know light could do that.

omfg! why you dont just read whole the halo3 forum
it is the ark cuz here the info

The Ark is a mysterious Forerunner device from which all the Halos can be activated. In the end of Halo 2, Delta Halo is armed and then unexpectedly shut down, causing it to send a superluminal signal to all other Halos in the galaxy, putting them on standby mode. 343 Guilty Spark informs Miranda Keyes and Sergeant Johnson that the Halos must now be shut down from "The Ark". The location of the Ark is on Earth, buried under the African soil near New Mombasa.

It is also believed, though this is purely speculative, that the Ark may have sheltered the Forerunners after Halo's first use, which then evolved into humanity. In the Bible, God floods the Earth to cleanse it of all life, which has grown evil and wicked. However, he saves a group of righteous humans and some animals by telling them to build and seek refuge in a ship, called the Ark. Thus it is a possibility that in Halo, the Ark is a structure or device that shields those using it from the effects of the rings' activation. The humans on Earth might have descended from those who were protected by the Ark during the first activation of the rings.

343 says that the ark is the only place from which the Halos can be remotely ACTIVATED, not shutdown. What we saw in the trailer is the sending of a signal to activate the Halos and destroy all life in the galaxy.

ok
just to let u no, u r not explaning anything.

u r sharing yout theorys and that its, this is what actualy does happen,

after the arbiter an johnson kill taterus, the monitor tells them where the ark is, ,earth, they need to find a ship with space jump capabilities.

they go to high charity (which is now infested by flood)

and find cortana (after her difficult ordeal with gravemind)

she protects them from the masses of flood until they find a ship
when they do, the arbiter grabs her and she detonated the cruser ship (to destroy halo) and speed of to the ship with keys and johnson.

now the ark IS supposed to be a remote detonation device, but you dont no that there is ment to be an explosion or not, so plz dont jump to conclusions unless they are smart ones

some people just say the ark protects the good of heart from the flood
(that actualy has meaning, think boy think!)

but if it is to clense the universe of the floods food supply, (life)

it would not save a few lives in doing so,

the forunners are inhumane and cruel of heart, there is one in halo 3 and he destroys the prophet (of whose name i cant remember) who got stick to gravemind ,because he bretrayed them
