MROS (Mindless Rabble of Scientists) - A group to discuss any aspect of science

Posted by: R3ACTlON
Hard is good.

Obviously the terms of use and code of conduct can't be breached, but like the rules they are ambiguous to allow an element of subjectivity in the slaying of rule-breakers.

So what can we actually do in groups that we can't do in forums which does not violate the above documents?

We can discuss religion and politics, but can we discuss anything narcotics related?

What of threads dedicated to mammary glands and well sculpted rear sludge launchers?

Do not want.

I think that Bungie occasionally monitors private groups (not all obviously) but doesn't restrict anything that is kept within the group.

I'll have to google that last statement you posted, but I do have an answer for you.

Private groups seem to mainly serve a purpose to gather like-minded gamers/internet browsers to discuss and hang-out. All while keeping their discussions hidden from the public eye, hence the "private". What they decide to discuss is totally up to the members themselves, but they have to realize one thing. Bungie.net is not a place to discuss illegal activities or products. They have to respect the wishes of the owners of the website to stay away from those subjects, or face the consequences.

I play for fun and armory completion. :)

Your group "NSFW" will be deleted if an admin sees it, if that is what you are asking. I believe this to be true because I have heard of instances where an admin has deleted NSFW threads in certain private groups before if I remember correctly.

No.. I'm not talking about my group because I have set up rules accordingly, it just made me ponder the thought.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

Just to let you know: I was the original creator of the NSFW group many months ago; and it's an obvious trap for the group members. If you're found with content that breaks the rules, you're likely to get slammed down hard.

Have fun :)

If they get reported to the Web Team.

The Web Team has full reign and can pop in and out of groups.

Your private groups aren't really private. However, as long as you're not really planning anything sinister everything is fine. There are several chapters that promote the discussion of topics that are banned on the mains (politics, religion, sex, etc).

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

They're only as private as you want them to be. The CoC and ToU still apply, but are enforced differently. You can talk about whatever you want, but if you violate the CoC/ToU and an admin finds out, you're asking for trouble.

Politics and religion are banned by the forum rules, not the CoC or ToU. Use the CoC and ToU as your guide. Talk about whatever you like, but understand that if you violate Bungie's governing documents, you're running the risk of something happening to you and/or your group.

So, once again, your groups are as private as you make them. Bungie will never look at it unless you give them a reason to.

Groups are private to many members but not to the webteam. I've seen posts by Achronos and other members in private groups, but when you go to their groups page they aren't actually listed in a private group. However, on their post they don't have the "inactive" title for the group.

Probably cause they're admins or something :P

Basically this. Essentially, you could be running a group talking all about narcotics and other illegal things and never get in trouble. All it takes, though, is that one person to PM Achronos about the group. Then the group will be taken care of accordingly.
