we all know that halo should of destroyed all life in the galaxy, so why are humans and covenant around, could it be that the forerunner stored some of their own dna in places like the arc and after the halo rings had been detonated they had the arcs release the dna wich later creates humans and other organisms, and its right around the area that scientists say humans originated from (real life not halo), so could it be that adam and eve are the computers that managed this, or the dna they used, or forerunner that ran the station?

please leave coments below.

My idea is that the Halo universe is Bungie's interpretation of the Noah's Ark story in the Bible. There are so many connections between the two stories. Most of the stories in the Bible are metaphorical. This could mean that instead of the world being ended by a flood of water, it could be ended by the Flood parasite. Already in the Halo 3 announcement trailer, Cortana says "This is the way the world ends." We all know that we must face the Flood again in Halo 3 because of the cliffhanger in Halo 2. In the Bible, God used the flood to clean the world of sinful people. What if the Flood is a way of purging the universe. I think Bungie is taking the metaphorical story of Noah's Ark and telling it as "what if this is what really happened."

i think it might be a combination of both, according to the books halo is a holy war, and below are some terms proving it, but then your saying that the forerunners were gods in a way.

Covenant
Halo
Prophets

Somebody needs to pound the snot out of you.

As for staying on topic. I also think that Bungie tries to tie many beliefs into the Halo universe...like the extinction of the dinasours was caused by the activation of the Halos.

I had never thought of the Halos being the cause of the dinosaurs' extinction. Perhaps, with some research, we can determine if the first activation of the Halos was at the same time.

No, the Halos were fired 100,000 years earlier than the events in Halo. The dinosaurs went extinct 65 million years ago.

Let's not forget that that in the bible, the flood killed all life, except for that which was on the Ark. I think that connection is really solid.

But I think that the Halos activating can be related to the book of Genesis. I always pictured that event as a huge flash of light. What were those words in the Bible..."Let there be light", correct?

The Bible mentions four rivers that surrounded the garden of Eden. Two rivers in modern day Iraq match two out of the four mentioned in Genesis. If they are truely the same rivers than that kinda screws up your theory.

Im pretty sure the Garden of Eden was a story in the Bible, and when i last read it, there was Adam and Eve. No Spartan 117, and no rings that will destroy the galaxy. Just an apple...

I will have to agree with the above statement. Althought some of the theories i am hearing here today are quite compelling and could very well have some truth behind them, at the end of the day they are still just that, theories.

Perhaps you missed my statement about metaphors and not taking the stories in the Bible literally. Perhaps the Garden of Eden described in the Bible is in Iraq, but in the Halo universe, the "Garden of Eden" is Earth. Instead of looking at it on a global scale, picture it on a galactic scale. For us, life began in Iraq, or somewhere around there. For the rest of the universe, life simply began on Earth.

The garden of Eden was a GARDEN not a big metal thingy. And there was a big nice tree with juicy apples. I dont see many trees in there...especially in the desert...

I am not calling the "big metal thingy," or more preferably, the Ark, the Garden of Eden. I am saying that Earth is the Garden of Eden in the Halo universe. Why does this thread attract so many idiots?

I dont see many trees in there...especially in the desert... mount kilaminjaro* was filled with snow 30 yrs ago, now it is covered with only about 25%, things could have easily changed, like when the ice from the ice age melted. DEE DEE DEEE

"You must face the truth squarely and without flinching from duty. Our enemies are mortal no longer. Mercy for such as they is a chimera, self-deception is its only ally. Dedicate this weapon, given unto your hand at the behest of the Emperor, to their destruction. Regard its function as your only duty: you live only to bring cleansing fire."

HE IS NOT SAYING THE STRUCTURE IS THE GARDEN OF EDEN

he is saying bungie probably made the storie using symbolism from the bible

Noahs ark flood = halo parasite flood
noahs ark = halo ark
evil snake (garden of eden) = gravemind
Eve = cortana
Adam = Master Chief

It is all representation it is not being said that one thing IS the other, one thing is representing the other.
