Subject: Anniversary Map Pack - Boundaries Too Strict!

I decided to take a look around the Anniversary Maps on Forge. First thing I noticed is the "Out of Bounds" markers are WAY too strict!

For example, on Timberland Anniversary, I remember (at least on PC version), people flying banshees around that map. They were a good touch. Now, if I want to add Banshees to the map, they are severely limited in the way of height. I'd be find with just the invisible boundary but putting an out of bounds area below the invisible height barrier is just uncalled for.

I know this isn't the 343i forums but still. Anyone else feel that on most/all the Anniversary maps, they need to move the out of bounds areas back a little bit?

Exactly my point. I wanted to revisit some of those hard to get to areas on Headlong. But, nope! If you go there, you'll get a 10 second warning! If we don't want people going up there, we'll set our own kill barriers!

As a map breaker, I loved going out of bounds on all the prior Halo's, exploring unknown areas, seeing how the map looks like from different places, etc. Halo Reach has increasingly shit built-in kill-zone boundaries and I hate the makers of the maps for that.

I know, those soft kill barriers shouldn't have been in the game.

I posted this while back on 343i forums.

Considering there are jetpacks now, they were beyond necessary.

Those kill boundaries are the worst thing to happen to Halo. I remember the majority of my Halo 3 days were spent finding ways to climb out of all of the maps.

Two makes there more than speakers.

If you think that's bad, try going to the waterfall on Tempest, or the lights on Courtyard.

They were even better in Halo 2, you could waste an entire day just exploring.

RC Clone is the anti-thesis of a lurker.

You should be able to remove them in forge.

Pretty much. I don't see how it could cause any harm.

They could have just placed the forge ones instead of placing hard-coded ones everywhere.

Im cool and i can haz recon

I hope they don't add these boundaries to halo 4, maybe just an invisible one on the end of the map and soft kill boundaries in MM.

These boundaries ruin part of the halo feeling.I don't want to know how much time I used to find glitches or to learn them.
It entertained me for hours.

I miss Halo. Maybe Halo 4 will change that.

Edit: Lol nope

Lazy devs not wanting to work with forge so the add barriers in devmode which means forgers can't touch them unless the manage to get a devkit, which can't be taken on line.
