I'm not up on my biblical mythology, is babylon a city, just a location for the last battle between heaven and hell, or is it the name of the battle that takes place anywhere? But I think babylon is porbably considerably north of central Africa, probably in arabia or North Africa. But, hey , it could be anywhere. Assuming it is a where.

You know, it does sort of hurt your cause when you insist in shouting at people instead of making your point.

But it could very well be babylon, considering the battle to take and hold the ark could very well be the last for mankind.

HOLY S**T!!!! i just had a revelation!!!!!!!

You board the ARK if you want to SURVIVE THE FLOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Earth is the covenants promised land.
whatever they dig up may be some sort of sheild for the halo weapons!!!!!
They are going to start the galaxy over, purified from all who are unworthy.. maybe they arent to crazy and suicidal!

Posibly the Artifact is a Giant ship (the ark) and it sends a signal to the other halos to fire and kill all sentient life With the exception of the ppl on the ark and the ship goes around the galaxy planting life on other worlds, this might help explain how humans and he covanant survived the fist firing of the halo, or utterly confuse more ppl, and Babylon was a tower ment to see god, but then god got pissed and toppled the tower and confused the laguage andpossibly the separating of Pangea (if you believe in Pangea)

I hope you looked out the windows in Halo 2 on the Cairo Station because Africa still looks like 2006 Africa.

Well of course the general shape of the continent itself looks the same. I was talking about the climate!

The sahara desert is growing much faster than, say, the continent is moving. But most things grow faster than the continent is moving. An inch a year sounds ridiculous, but it might be close.

Babylon is a city between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, just...east or north, I think east, of current day Baghdad in Iraq.

First of all, that does not look like a city to me. Secondly, it is most definitely the Ark.

If Bungie read it, they would highly consider, but probably not use it. Very, very, very, very cool and interesing thing to talk about, but I don't think so. Who knows though? I'm already having little fantasies in my mind how I get to be the chief and I rediscover Atlantis...

It's definately just a huge bathroom, didn't you see the enormous hole and the water (water? lol) flying out of it because of its enormous flushing power.

I truely dout that Atlantis has Giant Plasma Beams comming from it.
And that is the desert If the Covenant "Glassed" that part of the earth there would be no Tree as you see in the cinematic.

Babylon, like Zuka said, was located in the Fertile Crescent. It was the ancient capital of Persia and contained the "hanging gardens" which were one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. It was not in Africa.
Furthermore, the lost city of Atlantis has always been thought to be in or next to the ocean, not land locked.

Babylon is the name of the site (in the town of Ur, in Sumaria) where the Babylonians decided to build a tower to heaven. This angered God, so he struck down the tower and caused them to all speak different languages. (Before that time there was only one language in the world) Since every one was confused, they only stuck together with the people that they could speak to. Eventually all the new groups of people went their separate ways and formed tribes, clans, nations, etc.,

It's in the Bible. Look for yourself if you don't believe me.

yeah, ha, hes gonna go reference the bible searching for and reading about babylon

I'ma sorry but I don't think you or the topic of this thread is correct. It's too early to make "it most definitely the Ark."
Atlantis was a city. A city does not exist under the Earth. Do you understand the words that are coming out of your computer?

yeah... That was the name of the Tower itself. I didn't put that in there because I figured that that was pretty much understood by default.

Babel and Babylon are not related. Babel predated Babylon by a considerable amount of time. Your recollection of what occurred at the site of Babel is accurate, but calling them Babylonians is not.
