Combat Rifle Specs:
* Name - Assault, Battle, Combat. ABC! Don't you know your alphabet?
* Magazine - 48 bullets.
* Shots to Kill - 21-27
* Scope - 2x
* Rates of Fire - Switchable between semi-auto, burst, and full-auto with the use of the left and right D-Pad buttons. See below for details on each mode.
* Semi-Auto - Probably used for Campaign. Roughly two to three shots to kill a Grunt, five to kill a Drone, etc... Pistol reticule. 2-3-shots-a-second.
* Burst - Efficient for both Campaign and Multiplayer. Accurate, rapid, and in the right hands, quite deadly. Battle Rifle reticule. In fact, similar to the Battle Rifle in every aspect besides power. See "Shots to Kill."
* Full-Auto - Here's where it gets interesting. Because the weapon would shake a bit in this mode, one wouldn't be able to use their scope. Also, if continuous fire is kept for 3 seconds, (that's mississippi seconds) then it will overheat. With the 8-shots-a-second rate of fire, this is just enough time to kill someone, assuming most all of the bullets make contact. Cool down time would be roughly 2.5 seconds, maybe a little more.
A practiced gamer could probably time it so that the weapon never overheated, stopping every two seconds and thus only having to wait about a second for the coolant bar to reach minimum again. Sort of like the Plasma Rifle. The full-auto reticule would be similar to that of the SMG or Assault Rifle, but perhaps somewhat smaller.
Well, there it is. It's probably a little different from my original design, but I'll be glad to get some opinions on it.
