The Covenant will be sent on their Great Journey when the Halos fire, taking the Flood with them. All that will be left are the humans, and maybe some surviving covies that are on our side anyway (we can use them for slaves... alien scum!). Then the new empire will dawn! Oh, wait... Um... nevermind.

Possibly after a boss battle (along the lines of Tartarus) against a forerunner

I could think of a few ways:

Like almost at the end of GTA: San Andreas, CJ has to kill Big smoke. Masterchief could of somehow been betrayed by the Arbiter, and has to battle him, or something like that.

Or

Maybe an ending where something epic is happening, and the final cutscene happens, and you don't know if the Chief is alive or not.

Just my $0.02 ;)

I can see it now, The chief speeding to Earth on yet another vessel as the words "I'm going to finish this fight, I SWEAR I AM" and then the credits..........starting with the word "OWNED"

my ending: master chief obviosly has to die somehow or it just wouldnt end right, the covenant will either be wiped out or a new covenant will form, the earth will be destroyed or severly damaged. the flood will be wiped out, and some other stuff in between

  • 05.10.2006 5:03 PM PDT

My ending:
Cortana locates the other spartans earlier in the game and they join with MC to finish the war. So the five spartans are in a valley on Earth, and they get surrounded by the Gravemind's army of flood and the remaining Covie enemies. With the about 100 people on screen at once the battle begins. The spartans prevail after hard battle, but not with out losing a couple. Then Cortana is located after the question the Gravemind. But what they dont know is her mind has been washed by the Gravemind and she is planning to activate the arc, Earth. Just as Cortana finishes her speech on how everything must die, MC calls on the only thing that can save him 343 Spark. 343 and Cortana battle and Cortana wins and as it seems they have lost the Sgt. Johnson carries his nearly dead body over the hill and saids "Go to hell, you evil halogram -blam!-!" End scene. Finally peace is declare between the humans and the ally Covie. Credits.

the Halo games I think is the best game series ever made. I’m sure all the guys working on Halo 3 are real busy and I know they are adding a lot to the game, but is Bungie going to make destructible environments? Since Halo 1 that is always what I have wanted out of a Halo game. This subject has been brought up before and not since we have Xbox 360 they have no excuse about polys or the system can’t run it. I’m sure this isn’t your only email about this topic but not many people have suggested this. When you’re using an assault rifle and you shoot at an enemy behind a tree and a few bullets hit the tree the tree shoots out splinters and snaps if it is a small tree. If the tree has bark the bark flakes off. When you get shot with a plasma rifel it leaves a scorched pock mark. When you get sniped in the face your visor shatters. When you shoot a rock it cracks. What if you shot the metal floor with a plasma rifle and it actually melted and then hardened. What if when that metal was in liquid state and you could actually leave a foot mark etched in the metal when it hardened. What if glass melted when shot with plasma or water cracked, steamed, and bubbled when shot with plasma? When you shoot a tree with plasma it can catch fire. See my point?

One more thing, I think if the environment were destructible this could completely change the aspect of the game which would be nice (it is the final one.) Imagine being below a bridge with two concrete supports beside you and shooting one support out slowly with a chain gun and then shooting the other support out with a rocket and watching the bridge fall and crumble. I thing this would shock and stun everyone (especially a video/trailer of it.)

lol, how funny would it be if bungie used one of these endings and put our names in the credits, that'd be sweet :)

Evil Angels
CHROMEHOUNDS
1/6/2010- A day that will live on in infamy.

The Man in Black fled across the desert, the Gunslinger followed.

I want an epic end,i dont care if MC dosent show his face,I just want an ending that makes me WANT to play the game again, not make me ashamed that I love the co. that made it.

Edit: I also want a good fight before the ending cinematic, and that music from the trailer would be nice.Thank you.

I like Halo.

STEPPIN LIGHTLY Jumping Challenge Map by Yours truly.

LOTR - Nightwish music video by Yours truly.

The Easy-Heroic Ending:

It turns out that the Flood are actually a physical manifestation of the Second Law of Thermodynamics, which states that the entropy of the universe is constantly increasing. The flood represent contained forms of the ever-increasing chaos of the universe.

The Forerunners were actually the group of beings that attempted to try to "reclaim" order in the universe, thus trying to prevent, postpone, or reverse the increasing chaos of the universe. This means defying the second law of thermodynamics.

Well, it turns out that the rings have been activated eight times already, and the chaos (the flood) of the universe has been eliminated eight times (hence the "nineth age of reclaimation"). But this reclaimation of order takes the ultimate toll on life itself. The death of everything may reverse the entropy of the universe, however all life must start anew. The evolution process begins again, humans and other life evolves all around the universe.

This new aggregate of life becomes the "Forerunner" of this "age of reclaimation". The flood begin to grow once more as entropy increases. This new age of reclaimation ultimately ends its cycle, yet again, with the "reclaimer" (Master Chief) activating the rings for the noble purpose of obtaining order in the universe once more.

Therefore, the forerunners are actually the humans and the covenant who realize that the flood must be destroyed in order to insure the continued existence of the universe. THEY are the ones who now must contain the flood. THEY are the ones to bring balance to the universe.

The ending of Halo 3 will be a battle between the ancient cycle of reclaimation of order and the humans' and covenants' desire to live, no matter if chaos will soon engulf the universe. Master Chief will find himself in THE pivotal position to determine the fate of the universe and all the living beings in this age. It will be up to YOU to determine the fate of the universe.

Legendary ending:

All the above happens, then the scene moves to the beginning of time, with Matt Noguchi waking up from a nap on the keyboard of his computer and his desk is clean! Alas! The nineth age of chaos has been balanced by the reparation of the tear in the space-time continuum caused by Noguchi's desk!

Remenants of humanity pile into the Ark...

...And then fire the Halos, obliterating the Covenant and Flood.

The ignorant work for profit, the wise work for the benefit of the world.

Master chief is on the biggest covie ship ther is, and trying to get to the profit. After 2-or-so levels of battling across the ship, you start to fight the profit and learn of something along the lines of the covies taking whatever makes the Ark impervious, and then activating the halos. You finish fighting the prophit and as you are about to off him the arbiter walks in, trying to help. The prophit tells him he can join the great journey if he kills the chief, begin fight with arbiter, you kill the arbiter, but get attacked by the prophit while your back is turned, you mortally wounded the prophit comes to finish the job. You look up and say
"You forgot one thing... I said I was gonna finish this fight!"
You throw that foot ball sized nuclear bomb from First Strike (I belive, might have been the "Flood") Turn to the out side of the ship, exploding, begin credits...

ok, here my most stink end

When Cortana located other sparters to tell go to the earth which is hardest war ever
then the sparters will go to there and mistaken the coverter ship (controlled by the floods) took out the plane *plenic, not sure spell...* and they will fall down into the trap of vallery, 10 miles away from the ARK so they had to kill floods about 1 mile far then they had to fight with converters about 2 miles then they will find SGT. Johnson laying there so pain then they had to take him to health camp then they heal him... then left 1 sparter with Sgt. Johnson then there will be a few of sparters and they will almost ariived at the ARK then they will see Master Cheif flying the bashee (he stole it from the elite *heehee) then he had to stop some sort of boss *more like leader* from active the halos so MC will saw the sparters then he will land next near them then had to team up to kill million of enemies like grunts, elites, brutes, floods and... some sort machines *not from halo2* (some strong killer machines) then after all of that then they had to kill leader from active then they will steal other bashees and escape from the ark gate but... Master Cheif say "I will stay here.... go right now, i will stop all of those" then you will contiue play master cheif to kill all then he done... all alive but 1 died so the end
