We’re flawed because we want so much more. We’re ruined because we get these things and wish for what we had.

Nope cant say it bugs me, but I can see why it might bug someone.

What if you just feel like it? Does that make me illogical? There's already a space here, and your eye is drawn to the box so I see nothing wrong with it.

Quoting above is the most logical thing to do and the so-called "pros" to quoting below are laughable besides "it's easier" (which is just pathetic).

Who takes quoting this seriously? I'm laughing for real right now.

Posting above the quote lets you see your post easier in your search history.
stupid reason.

If there is a quote pyramid with people quoting top and bottom it's hard for me to tell who posted what first, but usually I can read it.

Try midquoting, it really emphasizes that your post is in response to the quoted text.

Also, good luck trying to get Achronos to quote top... He'd rather die.

And as always, SEND ME A PM. Please. Or really bad things will happen to you.

It only bugs me in quote pyramids or when someone dissects a post.

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

It just bothers me when a whole conversation is being quoted with one doing example 1, and another doing example 2. That's the only it bothers me.

  • 12.28.2011 10:21 AM PDT

I always put my text below the quote. Seems much more logical to me as you normally want to read the quoted text first. But the other way does not really bother me though.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I actually think quoting above a body of text is easier to identify another person's post.

I think both are fine.

I respect that, however, why change a standard that has been around for years? Many others [citation needed] have become familiar with the "old" way of doing things, so it's difficult to adjust when a few people [citation needed] decide to do things differently.

IMO, Example 2 would and could lead some noobs to think it's their sig.

Do you know about time travel?

Are you angry about how I quote? If so, why don't you switch around how you quote and then hate how you used to quote.

I've frequented many forums over the past decade your style has eluded me until now! :D

Yeah, I've only seen it done differently here on Bungie.net. To be honest, it really does bug me.

I wear the cheese, it does not wear me.

This account is now retired due to WLID changing. Webteam needs to fix that, seriously >.>

I am your irk. And I quote both ways. No real reason for doing so or personal preference but I do try to be consistent with multiple quotes inside a single reply so I'm not replying above one quote and then under another.

2/15/12: Francisco Porras, I'll miss you. Rest in Peace.

I quote the first way, but don't see a problem with people quoting any other way.

  • 12.28.2011 11:18 AM PDT

It's easier to do it this way, and you can find your posts easier in your post history, although most people just use that as an excuse. I do it because when you quote, there's conveniently a space right there where you can type your text. It's much easier than deleting that and scrolling all the way past the quote (pain in the ass for long quotes) and I would much rather post to my convenience than to yours.

Sorry. :)

I can still read it either way.
It makes no difference to me.
