they are, right now
they have been since Halo 2 and 360 came out
the PS3 originally had the boomerang controllers
but was threatened to get sued by Microsoft b/c it was very close to the same design as the 360's controller, the only difference was the buttons and that it was a boomerang
and now PS3 is using Nintendo Revolution's idea of moving the controller with your guy you play in the games
the joystick idea
now the PS3 controllers have that idea
if you move the PS3 controller (not the analog) your guy moves.
there is still the analog, but you can now somehow move you person by moving the controller
it shouldnt be long before Nintendo threatens to sue Sony
and with Halo 3 coming out around PS3, they are panicing
and for a long time, they couldnt think of something for themselves beside the actual games
first there was Xbox Live, then PS2 online (which sucks by the way)
and then the controller ideas
and many others
SONY IS CRACKING UNDER PRESSURE
You my friend are challenged, First off its the Nintendo Wii, not revolution.
Secondly, its not a patented idea, the motion censored controller,
Third off, PS2 online came out in 2002 while XBL came out November 2002, therefore they were not worried because they both came out in the same year and therefore it was only compeititive.
Lastly, the PS3 comes out in November, 2006. While on the other hand Halo3 comes out in 2007 probably second quarter, so sony has no reason to be worried.
Its Blu-RAY, (although it does have Bluetooth). Its true, technically the PS3 does have better specs than the 360 BUT it's uber-hard to program for (According to various game developers) so you won't see a particular difference until developers really tap the resources of the machine. Unfortunately, that's going to take a while, and MS are already way ahead. Although the games are Blu-Ray, its a very expensive medium and it's rumoured games are going to cost around £65.00 (ouch)
And at the end of the day, if HD-DVD becomes the medium of choice then Sony lose. BIG TIME. Because no one BUT Sony will make Blu-Ray films.
It's a big risk.
