The pistol and AR should return - they are the definition of halo:CE, and I think that CE has more replay value. I love both games like kids, but Halo 2 was more of a one time through, then go Live. Halo:CE was definitely a repeatable game. While Halo 2 was more realistic tactically, sometimes non-realistic is fun, because it gets you away from real life. In truth, I think all the weapons should make a return. The AR should remain unchanged, the SMG a little more range, if not more power, but not both. Rockets should lock, but take longer, be more accurate, and less powerful than unguided. Ammo limits should be like CE, sniper holds 24 extra rather than 20, and the Launcher should get another clip too. Pistol (both) should go back to 120, not 60. Shotgun should get its range boosted back to CE's range, as well as power levels and ammo. The SMG should also have a higher ammo limit. Sure it allows you to be less tactical, but sometimes you just want to blast... Pretty much just take Halo:CE, add the Halo 2 weapons, vehicles, etc., and any Halo 3 modifications. BR should be more like the Br was supposed to be in the Halo 2 trailers - minimum three shots, or full auto, players decision. Scope should be single shot only, and the ability to hold the trigger should make a return, rather than Halo 2's system of pull, release, pull, etc. The drones should return, but they should not be as fast and nimble, it was sort of annoying. The Banshee should have a fuel rod shot in multiplayer, and the fuel rod should be in multiplayer, as well as the blue sentinel beam. Speaking of which, the sentinel beam should be more powerful, and be less ammo consuming, and overheat less quickly. Grenades should be beefed back up to Halo:CE's levels, not Halo 2's. Halo:CE's weapons were more powerful, but it didn't make a difference in Halo:CE, you needed skill to use them, whereas in Halo 2, the weapons are easier to use as a noob, and not as devastating for good players.

Sorry if I droned...

I'd like them all, but rebalanced for use on individual maps based on other weapons available and enemies, the same way live almost was.

Five Tenets of Bungie.net Forum Life:
1. Trolls will always be well fed.
2. Blame-ability thy name is stosh.
3. Bungie has no control over retail prices.
4. Watch out for low-flying defense drones.
5. Seven is not optional, but rather, an inevitability.

I'm so very happy the MA5B is making a comeback; I always felt it was a bit better at Grunt-population control than the SMGs.

Halo just wouldn't feel right if the Plasma weapons, the Needler, Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, and Sniper Rifle didn't show up, either. Hopefully the Battle Rifle'll still be around. It was an all-around reliable weapon and quite useful if you couldn't find a "Power" weapon as some people call them.

One thing I don't want to see is the return of the Halo: Combat Evolved pistol. Sure, it was fun to use and rather effective at killing just about everything, but I don't feel that a Pistol should be the most used weapon of a game. Most people constantly go on and on about how the Pistol fire fights were always different, but I beg to differ. For me, it was about five minutes of interesting Pistol combat, then it was off to find an Assault Rifle or a Sniper Rifle.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see, though. =)

The pistol, while some may see as unbalanced, is perfectly ok if you think about it. It appears everyone here is a rabid Halo fanboy, so I'm sure you've seen a bunch of the stuff on G4 about the Halo series. The pistol is purposely like that, so that players use it through the game, not as the beginner's weapon that you quickly forget as soon as you get a sniper, or AR. Besides, it's not that much of a threat, because I've heard people complain that they find the pistol boring, so I guess it won't be used much, thereby solving your problem. And the M6C Magnum in Halo 2 was an easily forgettable weapon in comparison to the other weapons. In fact, it was probably hardly even used when noob comboing.
