h2sucks.com website = First into the slingshot.
solely off the filthy, publicity-grabbing name.
I think recon was directing his statement to people like you. Look past the name and actually read some of our points.
Ok, i am an avid Halo CE fan and i like the pistol for its flexibilty.
But the fact is is that it is too usfull and overpowered to be a side arm. It has too long of a range for a pistol, to good of accuracy for that range, and too much damage for that range. I think that we put too much emphasis on it because it is the most unbalanced weapon in Halo CE and all the weapons in halo 2 outdo it un unbalanced gameplay.
I just think that we should give more credit to guns that take more skill to kill with in halo CE.
For example, the rocket. it is only good at close range, but if you can effectively kill at medium to long ranges with it, it is a really skillful weapon. Then there is the shotgun, almost impossible to kill unless in close quarters. And the AR, really hard to kill unless bursted. The pistol take sfar less skill than any of those weapons. So why do we put so much emphasis on the damned skill needed to use a pistol?
I myself love Halo 2... but if there is one thing that frusterates me beyond belief, and where I have to hold back from tossing my Xbox onto the street, it's the Battle Rife/Plasma Pistol combo.
In Halo CE, i've noticed that the PP barely tracks the opponant of at all, there is virtually NO auto-aim. But in Halo 2, as seen clearly in "Halo 2 is Noobifed" the auto aim is outrageous.
I have several times tried to dodge an impeding PP charge but trying to take cover behind a wall, but the charge seem's to, at lest part of it, passes through the wall and takes out my sheilds. A few seconds later, Battle Rifle shows up at it's lights out.
Many people have suggested that the PP not be changeable until it cooles down and I think that is a great idea. I don't know if Bungie knew about the strength of this combo, but if they did, they are complete idiots. It tears the fun out of every game because there is no defense against it.
Since it seems that some people like to say that Halo 2 takes more strategy than Halo 1, I would like to know what some of these strategies are? If you could, please offer offensive and defensive points of view for each strategy.
I am looking for all the legitimate strategies. Also, please offer legitimate halo 1 strategies as well.
I don't care which game wins the more strategy challenge, I am just curious.
Auto update disscussion:
My impressions:
Grenades detonate a lot quicker maybe a little too quick but maybe i have to get use to them.
~frags have same damge affect
~plasma grenades can kill you with full shields if its on the gound 2 feet away (dont like that personally) which means its damage effect is increased.
The weapons changes are not that noticable and my fears of dual magnums sucking was wrong you just have a little less auto aim on them. As for auto aim on everything else its still the same and and the plasma rifle/smg still has the same effect maybe a Unoticable less effect.
As for melees they are great 2 hits to the front with any weapon and theyre dead. Falling melees are 1 hit kills.
As for the brute shot its grenade power is stonger and there is a minor lunge when melees are attempted to the front of a player, you lunge about 2 feet if that.
EDIT: From what i hear is that someone had been standbyed and what happens now is that it automatically brings you back and lags the button pusher out of the game.
Also Flag pulls through walls and super bounces are gone.
Now, I don't see any, "ZomG Hlo2 Is the suck!1" I see calm mature disscussion. This is basically what we do overthere and everyone says all we do is bash and flame bungie and Halo2. These are actual posts from Halo2sucks.com forums.
