of couse ther shoiuld be;

I would spend countless hours making em

Bungie could hold a contest, and maybe even make the user content map official and ready to be downloaded.( Of course there would have to be some way of marking the map to recognize the maker, like thier GT.)

AND

movie clans could have exactly what kind of level they wanted

hopefully if they make it....terrain will be easy to make(hills,flats,etc..)
I remeber going on TS3 once and the top 100 maps were halo levels....but they looked horrible because it had no terrain option(all buildings)
(ps.sorry if double post)

I actually dont care if there was one or not. WHy would someone make there own map, when someone would have to have the exact same editing to play with you. What kinds of things would u edit anyway? Weapon spawns? We can already do that in Game Variants.

Have any of you ever heard of the game Pariah? The game has a decent map maker. You can aslo publish your maps over xbox Live and other people can play on them with you. if Bungie made a map maker, it would make me one of the happiest people ever!

No, halo has been a game without map making from the beginning, i would change multiplayer too much to be added. It works well for other games, that does mean it will work well for Halo 3. Besides, the maps that Bungie makes for multiplayer are awesome. Leave Map editor to the PC versions of Halo.

{ Map Maker } I like that idea alot , say like if Hang Em High does not come back for the third release , with map mker you can make sonething similar to that of your own creation .

I'd love a map editor. Since none of the maps that people edit are going to be the same, Bungie could design some kind of map publisher, like someone already mentioned, and then if your friends liked it, they could download it and be able to play with you on it.

Contests for the best edited map would also be pretty cool, but Bungie would have to test the map for balance, good weapon spawns etc.

Also, I heard that Halo 3 is supposed to be playable on Windows Vista. I also heard that people with Windows Vista and Halo 3 could play with people who are on Xbox Live, but that's just what I heard.

Yes, but a different program on the PC.

Map makes on consoles = garbage.

You could FTP the maps to your 360.

This would be so sick, and halo 2 for the vista is having one, so who knows...

I think that Bungie does a good enough job of making their own maps. Halo just isn't something that should be tampered with. Games like Farcry don't have excellent MP maps, so you should be able to make your own, but Bungie's work very well, some of the best MP maps in the industry...
