Anybody on here employed in the game industry (or even Bungie) who mind telling their stories of how they got in? I plan to pursue a career in the gaming field and wish for some advice and stories about how people got their jobs in the field. What's it like working in your dream job? Any myths you wish to discuss? Anything is welcome really

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Does this count? It is soe pics of old Bungie from the Marathon scrapbook and show the employees doing stuff.

You could use this page.

If you want to ask people who work in the gaming industry about their job, that would probably go in The Flood. If you're asking about Bungie specifically, I'd probably PM some Employees; specifically, I'd speak with Jon Cable, who is a Sandbox Engineer, or David Candland, who was the UI Lead for Reach. :)

Read a lot of breaking - in stories on the front page, read the update announcement in the past, and their interview.

Well what in the gaming industry would you like to do? There's character development, AI programming, game engine engineering, map design, story development and much more. If you want a free program check out unity 3D or go to the autodesk website and get free software.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to do programming/enineering or animation/visual effects. My end goal would be design but I would imagine you have to have professional experience before you can get into that.

I would recommend looking online and on youtube for video tutorials. Another really helpful place to go is the Bungie publications page

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

If I ever get a job at Bungie, it would probably be for design.

Be advised, these programs are extremely frustrating if you don't have outside help. Extremely frustrating. I would look at youtube tutorials before even opening it.

I've already started watching tutorials. Plus it helps that I already have some experience with Anim8or(a crappy program but it taught me the basics of the interface).
