This is my interpretation of the video, feel free to spit all over it. As far as Cortana goes, I think she is in some way being influenced by gravemind, as she was left alone with him on high charity, and I doubt an AI would speak in metaphors like she did. Gravemind loved metaphors. The Chief didn't really seem to be in a hurry if you noticed. I suspect he either realizes there is little he can do as he is on foot or that he's waiting on something to happen and he's just going to watch it unfold. maybe both. As for the Covanent ships not attacking him, it wouldn't be the first time they ignored his presence, besides whats he going to do on foot? Call me crazy, but it looked to me like the ships were just moving out of the way when the forrunner thing opened up. (maybe they didn't expect it to activate?) By the way the forrunner thing looked exactly like another complex on Halo 2 but I can't remeber what it was called. Its big and in the background of the halo as you play the Arbitor on one level. Plus, one of the articles in the H3 Q.A. said Halo fans would recognize it.
Oh and all bungies talk about this being the last Halo and all makes it sound like The chief is going to die at the end of this one. Most likely a self-sacrafice. Can you imagine a more honorable way for a Spartan? Oh one more thing, I don't think brutes can fit in banshees, but Then I was suprised to see a grunt pilot a ghost too, so who knows.
