I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but it seems that everyone assumes the structure at the beginning of the trailer is the Metropolis bridge. I don't think it is for a few reasons:

1. Look at the Halo 3 forum picture, its in front of those mountains. Its also in the middle of the savanna. Those trees were nowhere to be found in the city.

2. The bridge was completely destroyed when Regret jumped inside the city at the end of Metropolis. The entire city was obliterated from the shockwave.

3. The bridge was way to small to be whatever those are. The bridge peirs are also the wrong shape. They are more of a U-Shape (I just played the level)

I have no clue what they could be. I was just wondering if anyone had noticed yet.

One other thing I thought of was that the storm over the Ark was not from the Ark, but a storm created by the Covenant to unearth the structure.

Anyone have any thoughts on either of those?

I also think you are right. First of all, there was an ocean around the bridge. Where is that? Huh? Even if the water somehow evaporated, maybe by the intense heat of the jumping ship. Explain the trees. Those trees look like they are around 20 years+ so we would be saying that after Halo 2 finished (john is about 42 years of age at this point) 20 years advanced and now 1/3 through the game, john would have to be 62 years of age! A little too old for war games wouldn't you say?

I'd still be fighting at 62 if the world were going to end...but thats just me.

The round structures almost look like other excavations the Covies have conducted. Its just wierd how they are sitting though.

I started thinking, and this prolly isnt true, but what if the arc is within Area-51? Like i said its prolly not true, but it would make sense.

Area-51? I don't know about that. Those are definately African trees.

Plus, havn't you looked at Area-51 on Google Earth? I didn't see anything but a runway and some buildings.

I AM CABOOSE, THE VEHICLE DESTROYER!!!!!!

and the rings i have a possible explanation for them there
1. the rings are MAC guns.
2. how they got there was they were hit with a plasma torpedo
3. yes i know they are orbital the force of the plasma torp hit it and it went into the atmosphere
also the names of the station are relative to the city they are over (athens, ciro, malta)
lets say this was the ciro and it got hit and fell somewhere where ethiopia is and thats why the wire circuliar thing is there (the wires are structural supports) and the tunnel\lights in it are the maintinace passages
that would explain the trees, mountains, and the arc going unnoticed because no one in their right mind would build a city in ethiopia

Thats not a bad theory either. If you ever went out on the top of the mac gun, it was a round shape. Its possible. A much better theory than those being the bridge.
