The advanced methods listing below is a best of scenario, and therefore should be treated as such, though satisfaction could easily be attained with a simplified/streamlined iteration for today's gaming landscape.
Weapon customisation: Including fire select, cam schemes, attachments, calibre alterations, stock, fore-end, muzzle etc.
Bullet simulation: Bullet penetration, bullet drop, ricochet system, deflection, near miss damage (tree spinters)
Weapon modeling: Jam and fouling system, degredation, mag and casing discard builup, round selection HP/AP/HE/INC/HV/FMJ.

Highly destructable sprawling environments: Entire regions of engagement zones, full building/terrain/tree/vehicle damage.
Squad commands: Squad member/leader/commander modes, voice based gui support, Squad battle commander overview viewpoint.
Unyeilding damage moddeling: Injury and blood loss, movement loss and adrenalin hightening, dismemberment and maiming.
