Subject: Something big we missed in CEA's first Terminal...

I thought he said AI.

Glory and fame, blood is our name!
Souls full of thunder, hearts of steel!
Killers of men, a warrior's friend!
Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

I thought Spark was saying some derivation of g@y. As in humanity's assumed benevolence.

This changes things.

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

I'm a huge noob to the Halo universe, so please excuse me...

Consider this, what if John is and never has been a 'lucky' Spartan? What if John has forever been nurtured by the Forerunners?

Being nurtured by an advanced species?
Sounds pretty lucky to me.

Does not work that way, Geas holding up over a few decades is tricky enough as it is. To even suggest that he would have a strong Geas after 100,000 years is ludicrous, not to mention Geas do not equal "luck".

Chief is lucky because he is lucky, there isn't a deep subtext to every little thing.

This is what I was thinking. For Geas to be passed down to him for 100,000 years seems pretty far out there. I don't think this has anything to do with John and that people are looking at this the wrong way.

Unless a Lifeshaper still lives. Or the Forerunners were just incredible with logistics, and managed to predict that a Geas such as the one which spawned children suitable for a Spartan program would be needed.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

343 GS thinks that all the Forerunners are dead, yet he says he needs to verify the "presence and pitch" of humanity's gei. Therefore a Lifeshaper wouldn't need to be alive.

Hmmm... I'm not sure.

Sure, it seems a long shot. Nevertheless, it certainly wouldn't stun me if John had been nurtured for such a long duration of time.

What is luck, anyway? It seems ridiculous that John was just lucky, in that he is the last remaining Spartan, saved humanity and survived for so long purely due to being lucky.

Truth is, there isn't such a thing as luck. It is a word addressed to certain situations in which one looks at with disbelief, and has a certain ignorance towards.

Edit: Teh spelling errorz.
