No because one of your dumb peers would do something stupid like...use a nude photograph of alan greenspan as their signature pic. And man trust me, you don't want to see that guy naked.

If we were able to have our own images in our signatures that would really slow down this forum on loads and things like that. Also I am sure a great deal of people would put pictures of people we chose not to look at.

bah

I have no problem with Bungie playing favorites. let those of us who have been here a long time have our own avatars. I've been here for almost 2 years now. Someone should throw me a party. 2 years is a long time.

  • 04.14.2004 7:45 AM PDT

Yeah, but with that, the "member since" thingy only goes back to the start of the old b.net (the one before this new one). It doesn't track who were early members of the old old b.net - the one that existed before Halo. So they can't let really old members have even more special privileges over those who joined in like 2000 or 2001 before the new old b.net came into being.

I'm sorta mid-range, dating back to around 1998, I think. There are people who joined the original b.net before me, but might have a joining date a couple of days after me. Example: I would assume that stosh has been around longer than me, but my joining date is two days earlier than his. So it could in some ways be unfair.

Hmm

I'm gonna have to think this through one more time, but I can't really be bothered. I think you know what I'm trying to say.

It is a good idea let those who have been loyal get the rewards. Maybe they might be able to tell who was here back then and give those people some awesome picture.

(Nobody likes reading elederly topics bumped by a new member who decided adding "<------Very True." and "<-----Word of Freakin Wisdom!" is a worthwhile point in discussion.)

Don't post in old threads, unless it is incredibly, incredibly useful.

So...
Just don't do it. It is irritating.

Very true.

And then the quiet villagers become irritated, gather their torches and pitchforks and collect into a mob. Irritated becomes angry and then you have a mob of angry peasants that want to hunt down the grave robber who is unwilling to let the dead have their rest.

Oh, and it pisses off the ninjas too.

I know, two separate film genres there, that should never mix. But you get the idea why it's bad.

OBVIOUS reasons as to why we can't have pictures.. if you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm worried about you.. but you can link to a picture in your sig - although even still if it is offensive, you will have it removed from your sig, or even get banned/blacklisted

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

Are you secretly trying to advertise a certain chapter Recon? ;)

Rewarding people with this is basicly the same as the custom avatars debate, and i really don't want another one of those for a long time.
