why would the covenant not know bout humans living on earth when they've been fighting wars with them for ages?

BECAUSE THE COVENANT DIDN'T KNOW WHERE THE HUMAN'S HOMEWORLD WAS RETARD!!!!!!! HAVE YOU PLAYED HALO 1 ?

The during the war the covenant had never anticipated that the humans' homeworld was earth. They had just believed that the humans were simply meddlers in their grand design. That they were colonizing planets "just a littlle close" to the forerunner artifacts. They had been studying their migration patterns for years (refer to the fall of reach). They then decided that the human intentions were to interfere in their "great journey". They then realized that annhilating the human race was the most effecient method to ensure thier salvation. Thus resulting in the human-covenant war.

yes i have, and ive read the books and been here longer than you, so dont call ME a retard!!!
all im saying is, if the covenant had so much knowledge of forerunner and humans im surprised they didnt know that this place they're looking for is occupied by humans

AND another thing, why the hell does it take 7 halos to contain ALLLLLLLL the flood??? how did the flood get so distant, did they run out of room in one and decide to make another one far away??? or did they just start growing or manage to get onto the ships...

I've already stated that my theory is incomplete and still requires reasearch in order to reach a conclusion.

i still dont see why they had to make 7 halos... did they have THAT much flood? or was it simply to make sur ethey blasts went far enough, by placing many of them

The seven halos were never meant to hold the flood, but to guarantee thier demise. One halo cannot destroy all life in the galaxy. It would take all seven halos unified to affect the entire galaxy. And how the flood inhabitate several different halos? I cannot explain that yet.

I also thought that it was a big clue to the storyline how the index is always calling the master chief the reclaimer in halo one and two. And if you think about it to activate the halo they used a human both times the index used the master chief and the brute used Miranda keys so either the forerunners are related to humans (that’s what I think) or they lived with them and were connected in some way. If the halo wasn’t powerful enough to destroy earth there is always that chance they could have survived. As for the knowledge of their civilization, history has always been lost in time. Then lastly if you look at the new trailer (teaser) cortana said she knows his past and future well she has been talking to gravemind and he probably told her about the forerunners and there was probably some one who resembled the master chief. That last part may be a little farfetched but the rest still makes you wonder.

It could be a posibility, but don't get your panties in a bundle over it.

my speculation: the flash of light is a signal to forerunners who survived the original purge and are liviing outside the milky way, thus indicating the return of the forerunners and some loose ends being tied up in halo. at least thats how i figured it. tell me what u think.

plus, i doubt it is a apocalyptic sort of blast, otherwise MC is taking it like hes got a pair.

I don’t think so but we also don’t know so it is possible.

I highly doubt it was an activation blast. Why would those banshees be escorting that phantom...shouldn't it already be there? (this of course asumming that someone important is aboard it)

yeah, in that trailer at the end...look at MC, he doesnt even flinch, or flinch when the banshees flyby
but bout Forerunners, i think the master cheif has been on the halos before, he just cant recall what happened...maybe the Gravemind did something to him, he had the power to teleport him to the High Charity, maybe he put him back in time or something who knows..

Also, if it was about to be activated he wouldn't be walking that slow, he'd be dead-out sprinting if civilization was about to end

he was so calm...maybe he knew that would happen, maybe it was just another beacon like Delta Halo shot off.

Seeing how the covenant view the activation as a "holy event" there wouldbe grunts, jackals, etc. standing where the chief was to witness the event...or so i would assume

good theory? Hell ya! Heck my theory on the whoel thing is the humans=forerunners, htough i expanded it to include ark=basically noah's ark it'll probably marke soem sort of shield aroudn earth adn then release the flood ya know in teh story of noah's ARK how the ARK allowed animals and humasn to survive the FLOOD.

For example, if The master chief would walk through a small town what would you do? Watch with your mouth open of course!!! Same goes here. All Covie soldiers swore an oath (as mentioned in the first arbiter level) to uphold the covenant, therfore... they would probably want to watch that oath be fulfilled. There would be thousands of soldiers, not just a few banshees, a phantom, and a couple ships.
